Estoy de acuerdo con el fondo de tu mensaje, pero... las carreras pasan, el coche ha mejorado (al menos de momento a la espera de las evoluciones de Williams), y este circuito creo que tampoco se adaptará a Force India por ejemplo. Sin ser el mejor, sí creo que hay que ver que media docena de pilotos tendrán complicado soportar la presión de Mónaco (los ya citados), y si hay un fin de semana complicado, incluso aunque sólo lloviera mañana un rato en libres va a dificultar mucho la labor de los novatos.

Mi confianza es que si se termina la carrera Pedro debería estar en los puntos. Y ya toca terminar. Y si hay algo distinto (safetys, algún accidente, lluvia...) pues entonces cualquier cosa puede pasar si Pedro lleva el C29 a meta.

Completamente de acuerdo contigo. Por eso digo que lo que quiero es que Pedro termine. Si es así acabará en puntos o se habrá partido los brazos por conseguirlo. Perdón por el off topic que ya sé que está abierto el topic del Previo.

La noticia del nuevo patrocinador/partner es fantástica.

Y con respecto a BK, no sé como la empresa matriz no hace un estudio de mercado sobre el impacto del patrocinio de BK España en el GP de España y se anima a continuar con la senda marcada por su delegación española.

Pedro de la Rosa Q&A: BMW Sauber may surprise in Monaco
Everybody has been talking about the difficulties involved in Michael Schumachers comeback, forgetting that Pedro de la Rosa had been away for the same period of time. Added to that, De la Rosa is at a team busy adjusting to life as an independent again, with a car thats had more than its fair share of reliability woes. Now, though, the Spaniard is convinced the bad times are over. With the input of new technical director James Key, performance is on an upward curve and BMW Sauber might even surprise in Monte Carlo this weekend, as De la Rosa explained exclusively to Formula1.com

Q: Pedro, the road to success seems to be a very rocky one. Did you expect it to be that difficult?
Pedro de la Rosa: Yes, more or less. I never expected that my return would be easy. It has been a difficult start because weve finished only one race out of five so far and the reason for that is hard to swallow. But Formula One is never easy and I would be happy to do this interview five more races into the season because I am sure that the results will be much better then.

Q: From the outside, there seems to be two elements to the difficulties. The car is not as technically mature as one might have expected from a BMW-developed machine, but then theres the human factor. Adjust to racing again seems a bit tricky - even for Michael Schumacher. When do you expect to come to terms with these two factors?
PdlR: Well, I think that on a performance level we made a big step forward in Barcelona, so that is a reason to be optimistic about the next few races. On the reliability I must say that weve been extremely unlucky for one reason or the other. When I say that, I have in mind that we did 5000 kilometres in pre-season testing without any issues whatsoever. So that brings us to the fact that all problems have materialized during the races - and that really smells like bad fortune. I dont like to talk about misfortune in motor racing because this sounds like an excuse. But we have to see it as a way of understanding that we can do a lot better by finishing races.

Q: Peter Sauber said some time ago that he underestimated the time that it would take you to get back into racing mode. Where would you say you face the biggest problems?
PdlR: I must say from my point of view it has not taken more time then I expected. My last race was also the last race of Michael Schumacher - in Brazil 2006 - and when people talk about how difficult it is for Michael they are forgetting that it is the same for me - and I am not a seven time world champion. For me it has somehow been very quick that Ive readapted. I have to admit that the first few tests were difficult, but since then I have been performing at a good level. All we need now is reliability to show the true race pace that we have.

Q: When looking at your performance you always get close to Q3, but then things go awry in the race. How frustrating is that?
PdlR: Last week in Barcelona it was difficult, because in Q1 and Q2 I was in the top ten, and then I missed out. You have to understand that the car was capable of Q3, and that made me happy because had I had a perfect lap I would have made it to Q3. That showed that we have the car, and that lets you concentrate on your own driving.

Q: You bring so much experience with you from McLaren, a world championship-winning team. Do you feel you BMW Sauber are making the most of your input?
PdlR: I think that we have a very good team and we are very strong, very united. Now with James Key as our new technical director I feel that we will be making big steps. I dont want to say that this will happen due to my experience. I am only a small part of this big team. We have to give credit to all the engineers and mechanics and all the people working in the wind tunnel. And James Key is our leader now. I would say that my experience is important, but not critical. It is a little part of a big structure. That is what people have to understand. My biggest asset for sure is that I have been involved with world championship-winning cars and that is one of the main reasons I am at Sauber. I am thankful to McLaren for having taught me so much - and now I have to use all that. Speaking about all that is all very nice, but now I am here, we have a good technical team behind us, and we have good resources. I have a lot of experience - so now lets make it work! There is no excuse of not having the budget, or stuff like that. We do have a good package.

Q: James Key was one of the creators of Force Indias VJM03, a car thats been doing well. Do you already feel a difference since he joined the team in April?
PdlR: I think that James is bringing a lot of common sense, a lot of understanding and a lot of experience and he has impressed me very much in a very few weeks. But we have to give him time and I dont want to overload him with expectations. We have to let him do his work. He is now in the process of analyzing what are our strengths and what are our weaknesses and I feel very good about all that. He is the right guy for the team.

Q: When you analyze the situation where do you see the most room for improvement? Car and team alike?
PdlR: I think the car is very different from what I used to drive. Extremely different in its characteristics, mechanically and aerodynamically and that is something that I didnt need to mention because James spotted it straight away. The team is working now in these two areas, but our main target is to improve the aerodynamics - a lot! I see that now they are targeting the right weaknesses of the car - and that is very important. The good thing about us now is that we know exactly what our weaknesses are. I have been in many teams where they never knew what their weaknesses were - theyd be shooting in every direction. Now with James we are shooting exactly at the right spot - and this is why I feel confident.

Q: You must have had expectations of where this season should take you. Have you already lowered those expectations?
PdlR: Oh yes. I have a perfect plan about the next few races. I am confident. I was not happy in Barcelona - in fact I was extremely disappointed, also because it was my home Grand Prix - and I must say that I had a very bad night on Sunday when I could hardly sleep. But then I woke up thinking: Well, you are in a good team - and that is what you have been pushing for - and we still can do it. Its not the end of the world. Okay, we had a bad race but the car is good now and I am sure that there will be good races.

Q: Theres nothing like the Monaco Grand Prix. What do you hope to achieve on Sunday?
PdlR: The most important thing for me is to do as many kilometres as possible on Thursday. I havent raced here since 2002, so for me it is about re-acclimatising to the track - a difficult track! I know that if we do a good job on Thursday and in qualifying we will be in the points on Sunday. We could be better than people would expect from us here.

Burguer King tienen un puesto relevante en los Grandes Premios de España, es una gestión de Pedro con la filial en España. Probablemente hayan tanteado el intentar traer la marca para toda la temporada, y no les hayan salido los plazos, esto sólo demuestra el compromiso de Pedro con esta temporada. Es fabuloso.

Por cierto, muy bonitas las camisetas (las camisas no las he visto) en el Corte Inglés, 39 eurazos, pero merece la pena.

Sauber says drivers have full backing

Peter Sauber has delivered a firm vote of confidence in drivers Pedro de la Rosa and Kamui Kobayashi - after admitting he has been baffled by reports suggesting that their places have been under threat.

Wild speculation suggested that de la Rosa in particular could lose his seat in favour of a driver with sponsorship, but Sauber has made it clear that he has total faith in the job the Spaniard has been doing.

"I don't understand why this situation comes up again and again," Sauber told AUTOSPORT when asked about the situation regarding his team's line-up for 2010. "The drivers are no topic for the team.

"The Spanish GP was the first time as a team we were able to provide the drivers with a car that is competitive, and the most important thing for the driver is to get confidence."

Sauber believes that his outfit has made some good progress with its C29 in recent weeks, and thinks the more competitive showing delivered in Spain was evidence that the team was moving up the order.

"I think in Spain we made real progress, and we made two steps forward which was necessary," he said. "With only one step you cannot make the gap smaller, and I think it was the result of a new aero package, that was as good as in the wind tunnel, which is important.

"Also the F-duct works well now. Maybe it is impossible to improve it again but it works well and I believe also on the set-up side, the mechanical side, we made a step in the right direction. That also is very important for the driver and the team too, to be confident."

Ale... todos tranquilitos, a acabar la carrera a rezar una una buena calificación y a empezar a disfrutar que es lo que nos toca (ahora que el monoplaza parece más fiable)

Se agradecen esas palabras de apoyo de Peter Sauber para al menos trabajar con tranquilidad.

Hasta Silverstone no habra nuevas mejoras, xo tb supongo q todavía no le habrán sacado el máximo provecho al nuevo pack aerodinámico.

Aún vamos a necesitar algo de paciencia. Sauber ha empezado FATAL, pero están trabajando bien y eso ya ha dado sus frutos en Barcelona, donde hemos visto un salto importante. Hay que seguir confiando en el equipo. Sin duda, las palabras de apoyo de Peter Sauber hacia los pilotos es una buena noticia. Hacer que las personas trabajen bajo gran presión nunca trae buenos resultados. Además estoy convencido de que en el seno del equipo jamás se ha hablado de sustituir pilotos y todo ha sido una pájara mental de algún medio que especulando, para variar, se ha hecho eco en más sitios.
Estoy seguro de que al final de temporada veremos un Sauber más competitivo y con verdaderas posibilidades de entrar en los puntos siempre sin buscar carambolas. La temporada 2011 será muy diferente y espero que Pedro esté ahí.
Os invito a que analicéis los resultados del equipo Sauber desde que empezó y veréis que aunque no ha sido un gran equipo, siempre ha estado ahí dando guerra, por descontado marcando puntos. En realidad, es este año en que las cosas van de forma extraña y por eso es cuestión de tiempo que Sauber vuelva a su estatus normal, el 5º - 7º equipo de la parrilla. Como nos dice siempre PALATOOS... PACIENCIA.

Antes de los primeros entrenamientos en Montmeló vi, con ayuda de unos prismáticos, que el coche llevaba publicidad de Burger King. Esa la distinguí claramente, pero además (se lo comenté a palatoos1 y a alguien más) vi unas piezas con una publicidad en letras rojas.

Era sólo texto (creo que empezaba por k), y la pieza donde aparecía era pequeña, y el texto (un par de líneas) estaba pegado al borde.

Misteriosamente esa publicidad nunca apareció.

También puede ser que lo que yo veía no fuese una parte del coche, sino otra cosa puesta por allí encima...

Creo que desde Montmeló la tendencia es positivo, e incluso lo digo ahora en Mónaco sin haberse disputado la clasificación. El coche quizás no vaya aquí, pero la impresión general entorno al equipo es que hay un halo de tranquilidad, los patrocinadores están llegando, el coche ha mejorado en casi todos los circuitos, y Key ha traído tranquilidad. Ahora esto sí parece una escudería de Fórmula 1 seria.

Pedro tiene que estar ahí, se lo merece, y visto lo de Montmeló llegará su oportunidad.

Ahora como decís, a tener una clasificación "tranquila", a ver si sale esa vuelta buena en el momento adecuado, superamos a Kamui, y terminamos la carrera. Si se cumple todo, el domingo estamos celebrando los primeros puntos de Pedro.

Por cierto, muy acertadas las palabras de Peter Sauber. Creo que ahora tenemos coche para luchar por los puntos, a ver si dura.

Peter Sauber respalda a sus pilotos

El director y propietario del equipo Sauber, el suizo Peter Sauber, ha asegurado en Mónaco que no hay ningún tipo de duda al respecto de la permanencia de sus dos pilotos, Kamui Kobayashi y Pedro de la Rosa, y que le desconciertan los rumores.

"No comprendo por qué esta situación se repite una y otra vez. Los pilotos no son un tema de debate para el equipo. En el Gran Premio de España es la primera vez que hemos podido darles un coche competitivo, lo que es muy importante para que tengan confianza."

También aprovechó la ocasión para comentar las mejoras que sufrió el C29 en la pasada carrera: "Creo que en España hemos hecho importantes progresos y dado dos pasos adelante, algo que era necesario. Con un solo paso adelante no hubiera sido posible reducir tanto las diferencias, esto ha sido posible gracias al nuevo conjunto aerodinámico que ha funcionado tan bien como en el túnel de viento, lo que es muy importante."

"El conducto F ahora funciona bien. Tal vez, sea imposible mejorarlo de nuevo, pero funciona bien y creo que también en la puesta a punto y en la mecánica, hemos dado un paso en la dirección correcta. Eso también es muy importante para el piloto y el equipo, para estar tranquilos."
