Su compañero Mario dominguez destrozo la carrera de oriol cuando iba a salir de hacer el pitstop en vez de relentizar el señor mario se le cruzo perdiendo mucho tiempo y le tiro las opciones de victoria llendo 2º en ese momento.

Han estado entrevistando hace un momento a Servià en la SER. En una de las respuestas creo que ha comentado, si no he entendido mal, que mientras los presupuestos en la F1 son de 400-500 millones de $ los suyos son de 10-15. Yo me he quedado "asín":

Aún así ha dicho también, más o menos, que al estrenar este año nuevo monoplaza han aumentado los gastos de los equipos y han recurrido más a pilotos que aportaran patrocinadores (un handicap para él).

Paul Tracy has been given the green light to return behind the wheel of his No.3 Champ Car after suffering a compression fracture to his first lumbar vertebrae during practice for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach in April. The 2003 series champion began his recovery process only a couple of days after his accident by continuing with his strict fitness routine which includes cycling for over 50 miles a day under the hot Nevada sun. Last week, Tracy visited Dr. Trammell in Indianapolis, who reviewed the latest X-rays and gave him the approval to drive the 750-horsepower DP01.

Tracy’s return to the track will take place this week at the Mont-Tremblant Circuit in St. Jovite, Quebec, where he will conduct a two-day test with on Thursday and Friday.

“It feels good to be back in shape and ready to drive,” Tracy said. “It’s been very frustrating. We started the year with a strong result in Vegas and we knew we were starting to build momentum but this injury completely interrupted our plans for the championship.

“It’s going to be tough obviously coming from behind in the points but all we can do is go out there, win races, collect as many points as we can and see what happens.”

Forsythe Championship Racing also announced that Oriol Servia, who replaced Tracy for the Long Beach and Houston events, recording 2nd and 4th place results, will return to the team to take over the driving duties of the No.7 car at the Grand Prix of Portland. Previously, Mario Dominguez drove the No.7 in the first three races of the year.

“It’s another good opportunity for me,” Servia stated. “I want to thank Jerry Forsythe and the Forsythe team for putting their trust in me and letting me get back behind the wheel of one of their cars. I’m also very glad that Paul is fully recovered; I hope that together we can give Sebastien [Bourdais] a good fight for the win at Portland.

“These last few weeks for me have been no different for me than any other year, I’m preparing mentally and physically as I always do, always ready to go out there and fight for the championship.”

Gran Premio de Toronto

Oriol Servià lidera media carrera pero abandona en una prueba demoledora que solo concluyen ocho coches.

Toronto (Ontario, Canadà), 08.07.2007.- Oriol Servià (Indeck/Panoz-Cosworth) ha liderado 34 de las 73 vueltas de qué ha constado la séptima carrera de la Champ Car World Series, disputada este domingo en el circuito urbano de Toronto. El catalán ha abandonado en la vuelta 57 cuando ha salido de la pista a causa de la lluvia, elemento que ha propiciado que solo ocho coches hayan concluido la prueba y únicamente los cinco primeros en la misma vuelta. El piloto del RACC, que se ha clasificado décimo en esta carrera, es ahora octavo en la general del campeonato.

A pesar del abandono, el fin de semana de Oriol Servià en Toronto ha dejado clara la evolución de las prestaciones respecto a las carreras anteriores. Autor del segundo mejor tiempo en la primera sesión de entrenamientos oficiales y del tercero en la siguiente, el gerundense ha ocupado el tercer lugar en la formación de salida. Un inicio de carrera muy agresivo le ha situado líder en la primera vuelta tras superar a Justin Wilson y Sébastien Bourdais, posición que ha conservado hasta el primer 'pit-stop' (vuelta 35) después de haber resistido la presión de Bourdais en las primeras vueltas y de haberse alejado posteriormente del francés, triple campeón de esta competición. Un trompo en la vuelta 39, cuando ha caído un fuerte aguacero, le ha hecho retroceder hasta la undécima plaza, a partir de la cual ha remontado hasta la séptima cuando en la vuelta 55 ha entrado a efectuar un tercer 'pit-stop' con el que, por estrategia alternativa, mantenía opciones a les posiciones de honor.

Oriol Servià: "Me quedo con la parte positiva del fin de semana, haber estado entre los tres más rápidos en las calificaciones y el 'warm-up' y haber dominado media carrera. Justo antes de la primera parada en boxes he tenido una alerta porque parecía que me iba a quedar sin combustible y por eso Bourdais se me ha acercado bastante. Después, todo seguía en orden pero con las ruedas de agua la situación cambia bastante. Desde hace tiempo vengo diciendo que la goma es demasiado blanda y dificulta el dominio del coche, que se me ha ido de las manos. Hemos tenido mala suerte".

Gran Premio de Edmonton

Oriol Servià logra finalizar sexto tras remontar siete posiciones en la carrera que cierra la primera mitad de temporada.

Edmonton (Alberta, Canadá), 22.07.2007.- Oriol Servià (Indeck/Panoz-Cosworth) ha logrado la sexta posición en la octava carrera de la Champ Car World Series, disputada en el circuito trazado en el aeropuerto de Edmonton y que ha cerrado la primera mitad de campeonato. Después de haber estado constantemente entre los más rápidos en la prueba anterior, en el circuito urbano de Toronto, donde lideró prácticamente la primera mitad de carrera, el catalán ha vivido en Edmonton un fin de semana radicalmente distinto y repleto de dificultades en los entrenamientos, con la decimotercera plaza en la formación de salida.

En la carrera, Servià ha podido mejorar la situación, Tras haber cambiado completamente los reglajes de su coche en el 'warm-up' y haberlo seguido retocando hasta momentos antes del inicio de la prueba, el comportamiento del monoplaza ha mejorado y el piloto del RACC ha podido mantener un ritmo constante y defenderse cuando primero Robert Doornbos (Minardi Team USA) y posteriormente Neel Jani (PKV) y Bruno Junqueira (Dale Coyne) han intentado superarle, sin éxito. Ello, añadido a la diligencia del equipo Forsythe en los tres 'pit-stop' (vueltas 20, 51 y 70, de 96) han permitido tanto a Servià como a Paul Tracy, su compañero, obtener un resultado reconfortante y bastante mejor de lo previsible.

Oriol Servià: "Cuesta entender cómo un coche que iba tan bien en Toronto haya sido tan distinto aquí. Ha sido un fin de semana muy difícil ya que los esfuerzos de todo el equipo no sirvieron de nada en los entrenamientos. Antes del 'warm-up' hemos cambiado completamente los reglajes y viendo que el coche seguía sin ir bien lo hemos seguido retocando hasta el último momento. Ello nos ha permitido progresar y si bien el monoplaza no era lo suficientemente rápido sí que al menos me ha permitido mantener un buen ritmo y defenderme cuando Doornbos, Jani y Junqueira me han presionado. El equipo ha trabajado bien en las paradas en boxes y yo me he esforzado de principio a final, como si cada vuelta fuera de calificación. Estoy destruido, física y mentalmente porque han sido cerca de dos horas al límite absoluto".
