McLaren change pitlane position again

McLaren have been moved back up to the middle of the pitlane for the Monaco Grand Prix, following their relegation down to the bottom end for the last three races.

The Woking-based team had started the season in the fifth slot between Williams and Red Bull Racing, but were informed prior to the Bahrain Grand Prix that they would be moved to the last position - after alleged complaints from rival teams.

Although it was expected that they would remain there for the rest of the season, the pitlane allocation for Monaco has seen them return to the slot between Williams and Red Bull Racing.

No reason has been specified.

McLaren, whose motorhome remains at the bottom of the paddock, were unconcerned about being at the bottom of the pitlane especially because it gave them an advantage in getting a clear exit from the pits after refuelling stops.

"Technically, it's an advantage as far as we can see and where we are in the pit lane doesn't affect the races," team boss Ron Dennis said in Bahrain. "If there is an outcome, it will be positive not negative.

"Obviously some of the other facilities are not as good as here in Bahrain, it can be a bit of a squeeze, but we're very resilient to this sort of thing."

La verdad es que yo también quería una carrerita en lluvia, pero no se si es la mejor carrera para que llueva.

Casi que prefiero ver esta carrera en seco, como mucho qu ellueva en clasificación, pero nada más, puede ser una carnicería, me salta a la memoria la montonera de SPA que montó Montoya, al final llegaán a meta los Force India y compañía, si les da tiempo frenar.

En fin, que la zodiac puede no ser un buen invento esta semana.

On Wednesday, cloud cover in the morning gave way to some afternoon sunshine as the Formula One weekend began - as it always does - with driver and team briefings, and interviews for the world's media. However the relative calmness in the skies above the principality masks a dramatic change in the weather that is expected on race day.

The update today is a development of the theme for the weekend, published on Monday. A low pressure weather system seen here courtesy of the UK met office synoptic chart, currently situated in the Atlantic Ocean to the west of Ireland, is moving slowly eastward. This weather system will move into Europe during the weekend.

Having seen the back of one large area of rain last weekend, Monaco and the south east corner of France is currently enjoying a few days of brighter conditions. Thursday will be dry, with sunny periods. Friday will also be a largely dry day with bright spells.

Temperatures for the first two days of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend will be pleasant, with a maximum of 21 degrees Celcius expected.

On Saturday, the pattern for the weekend is expected to change. The latest indications are that the Formula One track activity on Saturday could be dry. The bands of rain moving in from the west are expected to move into Monaco during late afternoon / early evening. Rain is then expected throughout the night, continuing on into race morning, and during the Grand Prix.

The predicted track and timing of this low pressure area has changed very little over the last 24 hours. The surface pressure charts, and rainfall prediction maps, tell the likely story of the weekend very well.

Several mainstream sites now trust the model output to be true, and are rolling wet race day forecasts as a result. Weather.com have trusted the model output consistently, and maintain a 60% chance of showers for Saturday and Sunday. Weather-forecast.com go one step further and predict rainfall totals for the weekend. Weather Underground have similarly published a wet forecast for Nice, just a few kilometres away from Monaco.

Temperatures will be somewhat cooler as this weather system moves into the area, with a maximum of 19 degrees Celcius expected on Saturday and Sunday.

No se si será ficticio o no... per me dá que los "nuevos" TORO ROSO (= Red Bull) van a dar guerra y mucha, espero ver más cosas de Bourdais... pero tengo la sensación que son capaces de meterse para codearse con el 2º grupo!!! y creo que incluso superar a Red Bull.

Eso significa que en breve ya tendremos a equipos quejandose.

Aunque todavía no han terminado, Muy sobradito Hamilton en estos primeros libres, parece que va a estar muy fuerte este fin de semana.

Sobre Alonso sigo pensando lo mismo... creo que puede ser un buen fin de semana para él y puede tener a tocar, el mejor resultado que pueda conseguir este año. Aunque en este caso... eso de "a rio revuelto.... ganancia de pescadores"... no le vendría bien, esperemos que no haya mucho safty mucho follón el domingo, aunque siendo Mónaco eso es imposible.
