inardi is just one team yet to confirm their driver line-up for the 2003 season and while there are many drivers that could be in the running for a drive with the Faenza based squad, Paul Stoddart is hoping to have Mark Webber and ex-Arrows man Jos Verstappen behind the wheel when the teams take to the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne next March.

"As it stands today I cannot tell you who either of my drivers are going to be next year," he said. "I would hope that it would be a combination of Webber and Verstappen. But it could be a combination of anyone. We did a list the other day of 20 drivers. Rest assured there will be two good drivers.”

However, Webber has been released from his current contract so if the Australian driver wants to go elsewhere, he is free to do so, despite Stoddart wanting him to stay. However, the Australian entrepreneur has more important issues facing him at the present time, leaving the final decision on driver line-up on the back burner for now. At the season ending Japanese GP, it was revealed that several other teams are planning on taking him to arbitration over the much disputed Prost TV revenue. Bernie Ecclestone agreed that Stoddart was entitled to the funds and it was paid to the team earlier this season. The team boss has threatened to leave the sport if the action goes ahead, action he says Bernie Ecclestone is also astounded about.

"He cannot believe that they could be so stupid at a critical time in Formula One's history, where if ever we needed unanimity and positive things, we need it now," Stoddart said of Ecclestone's reaction to the news. "The timing of this couldn't have been worse."
