Yo creo que lo de "iguales condiciones" es entre el R2 y el R3 no entre Pedro e Irvine puesto que cada uno tiene un estilo de pilotaje distinto.
Ahora se comparan los coches, no los pilotos. Esto se hace en carrera.

Pues parece que el asunto está zanjado, y son buenas noticias para Pedro.
En la página oficial de Jaguar Niki declara, aunque advierten que no es una decisión oficial, que las mínimas diferencias no justifican una vuelta atrás.

"Initial results from the week’s testing in Barcelona point to Jaguar Racing retaining the services of the R3 once the team returns to Europe. The car was always going to be raced in Brazil but there was a question mark over its continued use in the European legs of the championship.

There has been no official announcement but team principal Niki lauda spoke to jaguar-racing.com after the test. “The performance differential between the two is just not big enough to go on with last year’s car,” he said.

“Also we cannot afford to spend precious resources on any kind of parallel development, so this is where we are and I am satisfied we have done everything to make sure that our next move is forward.”
