Pues recién configurada la parrilla 2009 me atrevo a abrir el post en el que analizaremos los movimientos que podrían producirse para la próxima temporada que ya noticias están empezando a salir, sobre todo referentes a USF1.

USF1 interesado en fichar a Danica Patrick

El equipo norteamericano de Fórmula 1, USF1, que tiene previsto participar en el Campeoanto de 2010, podría estar interesado en fichar a la piloto de IndyCar Danica Patrick.

La escuadra, que el próximo 24 de febrero anunciará sus planes y cuya sede estará en Charlotte, USA, estaría pensando en hacerse con los servicios de Patrick para así aumentar la popularidad del deporte en Estados Unidos y atraer a patrocinadores.

"Es fantástica y además atrae mucho a la prensa", declaró el director técnico de USF1, Ken Anderson, a 'The Associated Press' en una entrevista telefónica. "Probablemente el presidente de Indianapolis Motor Speedway,Tony George, se enfadaría conmigo si me la llevase de IRL, pero ya veremos. No sé si es algo que ella quiera hacer, aunque nos encantaría hacerle una prueba".

En la lista de posibles pilotos también se encontraría el ex piloto de Scuderia Toro Rosso Scott Speed y el hijo del antiguo piloto de Fórmula 1 Derek Daly, Conor Daly.

F1 interest in Pantano

Reigning GP2 champion Giorgio Pantano has said he has "been in touch" with a number of Formula One's potential new entrants for next season as he bids to reignite his grand prix career.

The Italian competed in F1 with Jordan in 2004, but was released from his contract in favour of Timo Glock before the season's end after failing to register a point in the first 15 outings and out-qualifying team-mate Nick Heidfeld on just five occasions.

Although the car hardly set the world alight, first impressions proved costly and Pantano was not afforded a second chance to prove his mettle.

Instead, the Padua native was left to return to ply his trade in the nascent GP2 feeder series, with a brief two-race sojourn in the Indy Racing League with multiple champions Chip Ganassi in 2005, taking the chequered flag a competitive fourth in the penultimate meeting at Watkins Glen.

After seven years and 15 victories in the category - including its erstwhile guise as International Formula 3000 - the 30-year-old finally clinched the drivers' crown in 2008, seeing off the threats of young guns Bruno Senna and Lucas di Grassi.

With still no F1 interest, however, he earned the unenviable record of becoming the only championship-winning driver in its brief history not to graduate to the grand prix grid for the following campaign.

"The entry of new teams is probably the most likely situation in which I can be in Formula One," he told GPWeek.

"I've been in touch with some of the new teams who want to come in and, well, we need to see what happens in the next two weeks. Campos is one of the teams I've been talking to."

Pantano competed for Campos Grand Prix in GP2 in 2007, notching up a brace of wins and four further rostrum finishes en route to third in the title standings.

The team's former owner - ex-grand prix ace Adrian Campos - confirmed late last week that he had become the first new hopeful to lodge an F1 entry application for 2010 under the name of Campos Meta 1.
