CITA De la Rosa: "Los Pirelli terminarán con las carreras previsibles" Pedro De la Rosa (Barcelona, 1971) termina su labor de probador de Pirelli tras medio año de intenso desarrollo de los nuevos neumáticos de la Fórmula 1 hasta 2013. El piloto español aún no tiene claro el siguiente paso a dar en su carrera, quiere seguir pilotando, porque le va la marcha de las carreras, pero la opción Hispania parece descartada. Los equipos nos pidieron gomas para más paradas, para que haya más 'show' Pregunta. ¿Están los Pirelli, y su estructura, preparados para la Fórmula 1? Respuesta. Perfectamente. Los de seco seguro, los de mojado también y los intermedios sólo nos falta pasar la prueba de hoy -por este martes- pero sí te puedo asegurar que estamos en una buena línea para pasarlos. No olvidéis una cosa, se ha hecho un trabajo en cinco meses que en una situación normal duraría dos años. Se ha condensado muchísimo el trabajo. A mí me gustaría tener seis meses más para poder seguir probando durante el verano pero se ha hecho un buen trabajo y llegamos preparados. P. ¿En qué se diferencian de los Bridgestone? R. Al final la diferencia no es muy grande. Sólo son neumáticos. Lo que va a cambiar más es la durabilidad de la goma, cuántas vueltas va a dar un monoplaza u otro y esto se va a dar en función de qué compuestos se seleccionen para cada carrera. Si la decisión es agresiva y se va a correr con neumáticos blandos o superblandos la durabilidad será menor y los equipos tendrán que hacer más paradas en boxes. Los cambios benefician siempre a los mejores, y ésos son Hamilton y Alonso P. ¿Más paradas significaría más espectáculo? R. Sí. Eso es lo que precisamente el público y los equipos están pidiendo y por eso yo creo que se irá por esa vía. Hemos hecho un compuesto de superblando a duro que dependiendo del que Pirelli quiera llevar obligará a más paradas o menos, pero ya os adelanto que la directriz de los equipos es que haya más paradas para que haya más show y las carreras sean más bonitas. P. ¿A qué piloto se pueden adaptar mejor? R. Los cambios siempre benefician a los mejores y para mí los dos mejores pilotos son Lewis Hamilton y Fernando Alonso porque son los que más rápido se adaptan a ellos. Pero repito, no creo que el cambio de marca de neumáticos vaya a ser un problema. Los pilotos no van a tener que adaptar mucho su estilo de pilotaje como ya se vio en los entrenamientos de postemporada en Abu Dabi. El neumático siempre es lo más importante de un coche porque es lo único que toca el asfalto. Cómo diseñas tu coche a nivel de geometrías de suspensión o a nivel aerodinámico está siempre en función de la forma del neumático, de cómo apoya, etc. y por eso los equipos buenos siempre van a sacar más rendimiento al neumático porque lo van a entender antes y van a construir todo el coche alrededor de él que es cómo hay que hacer las cosas. Los equipos más pequeños van a tener que adaptar las suspensiones del año pasado, el alerón delantero... es la historia de siempre. P. ¿Qué piensa de ese escepticismo que flota en el ambiente de que el cambio de marca de neumáticos va a favorecer a Ferrari porque es una marca italiana al igual que Pirelli? R. ¡Bah! Eso es una tontería. Toyota es japonesa al igual que Bridgestone y no es que sacara mucho beneficio que digamos... Hoy en día estamos por encima de las nacionalidades a nivel empresarial. Otras empresas están apostando fuerte por la Fórmula 1 y no va a haber ni ventajas ni inconvenientes, simplemente somos todos ciudadanos del mundo. P. Domenicali ha dicho recientemente que espera carreras más divertidas porque los Pirelli se degradarán más y que la calificación no será tan importante. R. La calificación para mí siempre será el 70 por ciento del resultado de la Fórmula 1. Eso no va a cambiar. A nivel de estrategias depende de lo que quieran los equipos. Si van a querer más paradas, Pirelli traerá un neumático más agresivo a las carreras que se degradará más. Si lo que quieren es menos paradas, se traerá uno más conservador. Es tontería pensar que Pirelli favorecerá a Ferrari, Toyota sacó poco de Bridgestone Pero la línea va en que habrá más paradas porque Pirelli se arriesgará más con los neumáticos y eso beneficiará al espectáculo que es lo que queremos. El año pasado nos quejábamos de que las carreras eran previsibles, que si sólo había una parada, etc. y ahora ya no va a ser así. P. Y del resto de novedades para esta temporada, ¿cuál es la que le parece más importante o que puede favorecer el espectáculo? Alerones traseros móviles, el kers, la duración de las cajas de cambios, el 'safety car'... R. Lo que sin duda va a cambiar más va a ser el nuevo alerón trasero movible porque con él se va a ganar mucha velocidad punta y los pilotos, cuando puedan apretarlo, van a provocar muchos más adelantamientos. Va a ser una ventaja brutal. P. Bueno Pedro, ¿y después de estos test, qué? R. Pues no sé nada. De momento acabar mi trabajo de ahora con Pirelli. Luego quieren hacer una serie de test en los que cuentan conmigo, pero ellos y todos sabéis cuál es mi prioridad. Quiero volver a correr, quiero volver a una parrilla de salida de Fórmula 1. Si puede ser, fantástico, y si no al menos como piloto reserva en algún equipo del campeonato. Con Pirelli estoy muy a gusto pero hacer cinco sesiones al año es muy poco, necesito más marcha porque realmente lo que yo quiero es estar encima del coche cada día. Fuente : Marca. Jerome d'Ambrosio to race alongside Timo Glock in 2011 The Marussia Virgin Racing Formula One team is delighted to announce that it has signed rising talent Jerome DAmbrosio to partner Timo Glock in 2011. Last month, the 25 year old Belgian successfully concluded an evaluation role with the team, which saw him take part in the Free Practice 1 sessions of the Singapore, Japanese, Korean and Brazilian Grands Prix. In addition, he conducted a further half day programme at the wheel of the VR-01 race car during the Abu Dhabi Young Driver Test following the concluding round of the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship. The aim of the programme was to evaluate Jeromes potential for a race seat with the team and his speed and excellent technical feedback saw him pass the test with flying colours. Jerome has spent the last four seasons competing in the GP2 Series, prior to which he raced in the GP2 Asia series, International Formula Master, the F3000 Euroseries and Formula Renault. Alongside his 2010 GP2 commitments he has also held the role of Reserve and Test Driver for the Renault F1 Team. Jeromes first official duties will commence early next year with the launch of the VR-02, Marussia Virgin Racings contender for the 2011 season. He will then commence pre-season testing alongside his 28 year old German team-mate Timo Glock in Valencia in February. Marussia Virgin Racing Team Principal, John Booth, commented: Jerome had been on our radar for quite some time as a driver we should seriously consider for a 2011 race seat. We had followed his progress in GP2 closely and it was clear he was one to watch, but when we put him in the car for the four race weekends and the Abu Dhabi test he surpassed even our own expectations. He slotted into the team perfectly and everyone took a shine to him, including our partners and the media. Apart from his obvious skill at the wheel of a Formula One car, he is an immensely personable young guy who is a pleasure to have around. He has secured this seat absolutely on merit and I think coupled with Timo we have the perfect blend of youth, experience, speed and potential and we cant wait to see what they can achieve together next season. Timo has done an excellent job for us in our debut season, in often challenging circumstances. There is no doubt that he has helped us to establish a strong foundation from which to develop the team and the package. Force India set to announce di Resta

Although di Resta is understood to have had a deal agreed with the team for some time, his Silverstone-based outfit has stalled on making an announcement about its plans while it resolved contractual issues with Vitantonio Liuzzi. The silence from the team on that matter will end on Wednesday, however, with the team having announced that it will hold a press conference at the Whyte and Mackay offices in Glasgow. Although there has been no comment from the team about di Resta's promotion, it is understood it will use the event to confirm he will line up for the forthcoming season. Di Resta's promotion comes after the Scotsman impressed Force India during 2010 when he fulfilled Friday testing duties for the outfit at a selection of grands prix. He was able to do that alongside his commitments with Mercedes-Benz in the DTM - where he ended the campaign as champion. Yo sigo en mis trece de que habra tres o cuatro pilotos como el año pasado.
Si Luizzi solo dispone de 2 Millones podra garantizarse la cinco primeras carreras y tiempo para buscar otros sponsors como hizo Sauber con Pedro el año pasado. ¿Valsechi tiene respaldo economico? -------------------- "El objetivo de Villadelprat era estar en la F1, pero no crear un equipo nuevo"

The elation after his Formula One drive was announced and the flow of congratulatory messages has slowed down and NK is enjoying the pre-season ritual that all F1 drivers go through. But Narain knows that it is just a calm before the storm, or rather the grunt, when his Cosworth-powered Hispania Racing Team (HRT) car lines up alongside the 23 other mean machines when the season begins in Bahrain on March 13. For now, He is busy with the preparatory exercises, "getting strong" literally, to shoulder the enormous pressures of racing in the top-flight. The 33-year-old has been following a strict fitness regimen charted by trainer and long-time friend Ramji Srinivasan. "Right now the focus is on strengthening the neck and shoulder muscles," said Narain, who clearly knows the amount of punishment his neck will take during the races. NK is in HRT's Inglolstadt (Germany) factory at the moment, familiarizing himself with the team of engineers and technicians he would work with this year. The Indian ace is keen to make a mark on his comeback year in Formula One after a gap of five years with a team which is keen on proving a point or two after the sedate debut last year. This week, the 'fastest Indian on earth' will do his seat-fitting at the HRT factory besides other technical tweaks ahead of the first test of the season in Valencia from February 1-3. "We have four tests before the race in Bahrain, the first being in Valencia, followed by Jerez (Feb 10-13) and Barcelona (Feb 18-21) and then a four-day test in Bahrain (March 3-6) a week before the season opener," said Narain. "Our new car won't be ready for the first three tests in Spain where I will drive the 2010 car."  Narain's last F1 stint was in 2007 as a test driver for Williams. So, for the 33-year-old is keen on familiarizing himself fast with the G-forces of driving an F1 car. So the tests in Spain, even with the 2010 car, take on an added significance. "I hope the conditions in Valencia remain dry so that I can make use of the full time testing over there," said Narain, who is the only driver in the HRT roster at this point. "The second and reserve drivers will be finalised in a week or so." Narain's car would be getting a new design and livery, courtesy of renowned vehicle concept designer and illustrator Daniel Simon, roped in by HRT to create a dynamic new corporate image for the Spanish team in its second year in F1. But being a driver to the core, Narain is more impressed by the technical advances in the car from last year than the proposed aesthetic changes. "The car will look great am sure with Daniel in the team," said Narain. "I am excited about it. But I am more excited about the advances in the technical side of the car which, on paper, should make the car more competitive than last year," added Narain. "The biggest change will be the gear-box and hydraulics package from Williams. The car will have the Cosworth engine, coupled with the systems from Williams. Basically, the whole geometry around the engine will be the same as the Williams cars," explained Narain. NK also believes, the new changes in F1 (Pirelli tyres and adjustable rear wings) will make the competition more even. "F1 has always been evolving. And I believe it will make the sport even better. The initiative now is to make F1 more environmentally friendly. That will also help the sport sustain itself in the long run," said Narain. "As drivers we will have to adapt ourselves with the changes fast. I will have to do the same and the fact that I was out of F1 won't be a handicap as I have been racing in other competitive series. "The changes will make it more exciting as it will further even out the differences between the big teams and the rest." Narain says the new HRT car will have adjustable rear wings. "We are not likely to use the KERS. But adjustable wings will hopefully add to our potency," added Narain. The ace is now set for the tests, starting next month, and promises something the fans something to cheer for at the Indian GP in October. "The fans have and Indian driver and an Indian team to cheer for. With the entire country behind me, I will give my best as always and they won't be disappointed," added Narain. Tenía entendido que Toro Rosso no montaría (al menos de inicio) el KERS. Si realmente van a llevar este sistema los equipos nuevos (únicos que hasta el momento han descartado el sistema para esta temporada) van a tener difícil progresar mucho.
Buena noticia para Jaime, ójala tengan un buen coche. Tiene que seguir la dinámica de la segunda mitad del pasado año con Buemi, si lo hace en Red Bull podrían terminar por fijarse en él a final del año. -------------------- PDLR&HRT ... 2012

El STR no pintaba mal a principios de temporada, pero su evolución se ha basado en pequeñas mejoras y poca cosita más... no pudo aguantar el tirón de equipos como Sauber o Williams que sí mejoraron sustancialmente, eso hizo que pasaran de tener posibilidades de puntuar... a aspirar a quedar del 12 / 14, salvo descartes. -------------------- Salu2 a todos y...

El nombre de Rodolfo 'Speedy' González suena para pilotar en Hispania El nuevo coche de Hispania se llamará F111 Hispania trabaja a marchas forzadas tanto en el nuevo coche como en la contratación de su segundo piloto. En las últimas semanas parecía que el italiano Davide Valsecchi era uno de los candidatos a compartir asiento con Narain Karthikeyan, pero ahora el nombre del venezolano Rodolfo González suena como candidato para ocupar ese puesto. Davide Valsecchi fue el piloto más rápido de todos los debutantes que corrieron en los test de Abu Dhabi de final de temporada, pero el jefe del equipo español, Colin Kolles, ha admitido recientemente que el presupuesto de Valsecchi en patrocinios aún no era lo suficientemente grande para la escudería. Por ello, según el veterano reportero del Turun Sanomat, Kuita Heikki, Hispania podría estar siguiendo los pasos de Rodolfo González, un piloto venezolano de 24 años. Mientras tanto en la fábrica de Hispania guardan silencio sobre los rumores que aparecen en torno al elegido para ocupar el segundo asiento de Hispania. Lo único que se limitó a decir Kolles en una entrevista es que pronto habrá novedades: "En los próximos días habrá varios anuncios". Di Resta, this year's DTM champion, was Force India's third driver during the 2010 season and has been linked with the racing seat for months. "Last year I became third driver here and good things happened, so here's hoping we get more good things," said di Resta during a news conference at the Whyte and Mackay offices in Glasgow. The Scot will make his F1 racing debut at the Bahrain Grand Prix on 13 March. Former Williams driver Nico Hulkenberg will be the team's reserve driver after being unable to find a racing seat for the upcoming season. "I'm happy to be in an F1 team and Force India have shown some good progress for a young team," the German said. Today's announcement means Italian Tonio Liuzzi is leaving the team, despite having a contract for this year. |
