Force India se ha salido con la suya y ha conseguido que Toro Rosso le pague

La riña en el asunto de los 'monoplazas para clientes' entre los rivales de Fórmula 1 Force India y Toro Rosso se ha acabado, según las noticias. Informamos en mayo que la disputa estaba llegando a su final, después de una reunión entre los personajes clave de los equipos en el restaurante 'Carpe Diem', propiedad de Red Bull en Austria.

Se cree que los equipos han llegado a una solución temprana después del colapso de Super Aguri, que estaba utilizando los coches diseñados por Honda y que también fue perseguido legalmente por Force India.

La revista alemana Auto Motor und Sport explica que Force India ha retirado la denuncia contra el segundo equipo de Red Bull, después de un pago de compensación de unos 4'5 millones de euros.

Según explica, el jefe de Force India Colin Kolles quería 9 millones, pero el jefe de la F1 Bernie Ecclestone habló con él para reñirle, y la cosa quedó ahí. (GMM)

McLaren-Mercedes F1 star Heikki Kovalainen ramps up the pressure ahead of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone this weekend, warning team-mate and home favourite Lewis Hamilton that he wants to win every bit as much as the Briton does.

In a pre-British Grand Prix interview, Heikki Kovalainen has joked that team-mate Lewis Hamilton is very good, but not quite as good as me' and has insisted the only result he will be truly satisfied with at Silverstone is victory.

The young Finn has endured a trying start to his 2008 Formula 1 campaign with McLaren-Mercedes, sitting equal on points with Hamilton following the opening three races, but since then scoring just twice and slipping some 18 points adrift of the Briton in the title standings.

Kovalainen's bad luck started in the Spanish Grand Prix, when he plunged headlong into the Circuit de Catalunya's crash barriers at more than 160mph following a wheel rim failure, leaving him severely shaken but thankfully otherwise unhurt. He bounced back to record the maiden front row grid slot of his fledgling career in the top flight in Turkey just a fortnight later only to be assaulted by the Ferrari of countryman Kimi Raikkonen into the first corner and then lost out when his electronics failed him on the grid in Monaco, leaving him to fight his way up the order once more, gutsily grabbing the final point for eighth place.


The appearance of the safety car similarly saw to his hopes in Montreal, but a strong performance in Magny-Cours last time out battling his way through the pack following a controversial grid penalty for having been deemed to have impeded Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber during qualifying earned him fourth spot at the chequered flag, and handed him a timely boost ahead of Silverstone.

I think there's been a lot of promise and the pace has been good, the 26-year-old reflected in an interview with Radio 1's Newsbeat programme, but we haven't got good enough results yet.

There have been a lot of incidents. I had an accident in Barcelona and also some technical issues; [due to] all these things that have come up, I haven't managed to put the whole weekend together yet, but I'm planning to start it at Silverstone. Hopefully we can have a weekend without any incidents and deliver with the promise that we've had.

The first half [of Silverstone] is probably the best piece of track that you can actually get a go on in a Formula 1 car. You don't have to slow down; you don't have to touch the brakes at all. You can just lift and shift the gear down and go back on full power, and that's where you feel a Formula 1 car performing at its best.

I'm looking forward to Silverstone very much, probably as much as the whole team is looking forward to Silverstone as one of our home races. I was based near Silverstone for many, many years. I have some friends and family there that I know, so for me it feels like a home race as well. I'm really looking forward to having a go on Sunday.



The only position that I'm satisfied with is if I'm leading the race; any other position means that there's more work to do. As a team we work towards that goal. Ten laps into the race I hope I'm fighting for the lead. From then onwards there's still a long way to go and it's just [about] trying to maximise every lap we go around. At the end the result should be good.

Indeed, just such a good result would boost Kovalainen's championship chances with his best finish for McLaren to-date being third place in Malaysia back in March and he is confident that he is capable of getting the better of Hamilton, with whom he has a far happier relationship than did Fernando Alonso last year.

It's really good, he enthused. On a personal level, we get along really well. We're both based in Geneva and we spend some together. We like sports, both of us. We do a lot of different kinds of sports, playing tennis and squash, and it gets very competitive.

It's working really well and we both are very competitive. I want to beat Lewis but, you know, he wants to beat me and together when we're on the track we push each other forward. He's very good but not quite as good as me.

El límite presupuestario que la FIA pretende fijar a los equipos de Fórmula Uno se retrasará hasta el 2010, según diferentes informaciones publicadas en el día de hoy.

En un principio estaba previsto que ese tope presupuestario anual comenzara a aplicarse la próxima temporada, pero la revista alemana Auto Motor und Sport publica que la FIA utilizará el 2009 simplemente como un 'año de prueba'.

Miembros de la FIA examinarán los gastos de los equipos en función de una serie de parámetros, según explica esta publicación, pero no se aplicará ningún tipo de penalización por superar los límites impuestos.


Se teme que sea muy complicado controlar los gastos de los equipos de Fórmula Uno debido a las numerosas y distintas formas de ingresos que reciben las escuderías.

Como cansa tantas y tantas normas ! cada día me gusta menos este negocio/espectáculo de la F1, que pena que se perdió el espíritu de pura competición de constructores donde lo que importaba era quien hacía el auto más veloz, y tenía margen para imaginar, yo la única limitación que pondría a los monoplazas es la de consumo de combustible y un límite de emisión de CO2 y otros elementos contaminantes, lo demás que hagan lo que quieran, cambiar ancho de ruedas, número de ellas, la tracción, la erodińamica, tamaños del coche y elementos aerodinámics, ayudas electrónicas, sistema de propulsión, etc, para ver competiciones entre iguales ya existen muchas otras categorías, pero la F1 ??? En vez de avanzar vamos hacia atras respecto a la evolución tecnológica.

DENNIS:Mucha gente no aprecia lo dura que es la carga de trabajo de los pilotos. Mira en tu interior , antes de decir sandeces.

Coulthard announces retirement from F1

David Coulthard announced on Thursday he will retire from Formula One racing at the end of the current season.

The 37-year-old Scot, who has been racing in Formula One since 1994, said he will remain as a consultant to Red Bull Racing and has not ruled out racing in other categories in the future.

"I would like to announce today my decision to retire from racing in Formula One at the end of this season," said the Scot in a statement ahead of the British Grand Prix.

"I will remain actively involved in the sport as a consultant to Red Bull Racing focusing on testing and development of the cars. I have an open mind as to whether or not I will compete again in the future, in some other form of motorsport, so I am definitely not hanging up my helmet."

British Grand Prix at Donington Park from 2010

Following discussions with Formula One Management, the FIA has confirmed that the British Grand Prix will be retained on the Formula One World Championship calendar. And from 2010 the new home of the British Grand Prix will be Donington Park.

Max Mosley, FIA President said, After many years of patient but fruitless negotiation with the BRDC, we are delighted that Bernie has nevertheless been able to ensure that the British Grand Prix will keep its place on the Formula One World Championship calendar.

We understand that the development programme planned for Donington will achieve the very high standards we and FOM expect from a modern F1 circuit. Finally, British Formula One fans will get the Grand Prix venue they deserve.

Bernie Ecclestone, FOM President said, Finally the uncertainty is over. A contract has been signed with Donington Park and the future of the British Grand prix is now secure.

We wanted a world class venue for Formula One in Britain, something that the teams and British F1 fans could be proud of. The major development plans for Donington will give us exactly that. A venue that will put British motor sport back on the map.

I am sorry that we could not have helped Silverstone to raise the money to carry out the circuit improvements and run Formula One. I believe that the government should have supported them which would have cost probably less than .002% of the governments commitment for the Olympic Games.

Donington Park last staged a round of the FIA Formula One World Championship in 1993, when Ayrton Senna took arguably his most famous wet-weather victory in the European Grand Prix.

Todos los años desde hace un montón de temporadas escuchándose que la F1 peligraba en Silverstone y al final, el año que se habían aprobado las obras para unas nuevas infraestructuras (pit line)... La F1 se marcha a Donington.

No se si echaremos de menos Silverstone, o al menos algunas de sus curvas, pero Donington es sin duda un gran sucesor.

Además, en Donington se encuentra una de las principales colecciones de F1 del mundo.

Donington es muchisimo mejor que Silverstone para asistir como espectador al GP, se puede volar al aeropuerto de East Midlands(EMA) desde muchos puntos de España(Barna,Alicante,Ibiza,Malaga,Mallorca,Tenerife,...) directamente con Easyjet,BMI,Ryanair,Thomas Cook,etc y el aeropuerto esta PEGADO al circuito literalmente asi que se puede hacer una escapada de un solo dia para ver la carrera sin necesidad de buscar alojamiento en Nottingham o Derby y ademas sin sufrir los atascos(los de Silverstone eran los peores del calendario)....con ir caminando desde la terminal de llegadas es suficiente.

Team begin three-day test at Hockenheim

The Formula 1 teams travelled from Silverstone to Hockenheim to prepare themselves for next week's German Grand Prix. The German Grand Prix will be held at Hockenheim 18-20 July 2008 with three drivers leading the Formula One championship.


The last time Hockenheim was part of the F1 calendar was back in 2006 as it has to share the Grand Prix in Germany with The Nurburgring every other year. The three-day test gives the F1 teams an extra opportunity to get used to the track with the current Formula 1 cars.

On Tuesday the following drivers will be behind the wheel;

BMW - Nick Heidfeld
Toyota - Kamui Kobayashi

Jakobi nuevo manager de Hamilton.

Hamilton 'despide' a papá y contrata a un mánager profesional.

Durante el año y medio que Lewis Hamilton lleva peleando entre los mejores pilotos del mundo, hay una sombra, una imagen, que le ha acompañado a todos y cada uno de los grandes premios que ha disputado: su padre Anthony. Es el celoso guardaespaldas de su carrera y quien le lleva asesorando desde que el chaval empezaba en los karts a los once años. Hasta ahora.

El piloto británico y su círculo de confianza se han dado cuenta de que su imagen empieza a ser un filón y quieren explotarla al máximo. Lewis ya es imagen de Reebok y Pepsi, contratos logrados por su padre, pero quiere más. De hecho, el plan es convertirle en el nuevo Beckham con su imagen.

Julian Jakobi, un tipo influyente
Para ello, Lewis ha decidido contratar los servicios de un mánager profesional, que lleve sus asuntos económicos y de imagen, liberando a su padre de esta tarea y dejándole, solamente, al frente del aspecto deportivo. El elegido es uno de los hombres más influyentes dentro del gran circo. Se trata de Julian Jakobi, uno de los mánagers más cotizados del mercado y que ya tuvo con él a gente como Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna o Juan Pablo Montoya, al que consiguió contratos de imagen multimillonarios.

De esta forma, Hamilton también se desvincula en ciertos aspectos de Ron Dennis. El patrón de McLaren siempre ha sido un segundo padre para él, pero ahora parece que el piloto se ha cansado un poco de su control, que ya le ha llevado a más de una discusión por las apariciones públicas del piloto.

la cubierta del motor fea?? pues ami me gusta mucho como queda, bueno viendo que me gustaba el Morro Morsa... cualquier cosa me gusta

Pues a mi los coche cada vez me parecen más "Star Wars", la verdad...no se si me gustan o me parecen excesivos.

A mí cada vez me gustan menos porque se parecen muy poco a cualquier coche más normal que puedas ver por la calle o compitiendo en otra categoría. Los tapacubos son espantosos, así como la tapa motor, y con tanto apéndice aerodinámico parecen una navaja multiusos abierta.
