Es un paso. El gran paso es el que por ejemplo han tenido Lotus y Manor con las aportaciones económicas del Gonierno malayo y Virgin respectivamente.

Uno de los soportes del equipo es Chad Hurley (uno de los creadores de Youtube) pero ya dijeron en su momento que eso de ser sponsor principal nanai de la China.

Se dice muxo sobre USF1 y que quizas no llegue a tiempo a Barhein, pero yo viendo la ristra de patrocinadores q tiene, me da confianza.

Un partner no tiene porqué ser una empresa que ponga guita en el asunto. Puede ser una compañia a la que se encargan piezas o componentes,... Y no tiene porqué se gratis.

Incluso ponen cómo partner a McLaren electronics, los que distribuyen las centralitas electrónicas, que son para todos las mismas!

Bueno pues no se si llegaran o no... han anunciado que rodaran por primera vez, el próximo mes en Alabama y que luego ya se largan a entrenar a Europa.


US F1 car to make Alabama debut

The US F1 team will run its car for the first time at the Barber Motorsport Park in Alabama next month.

The Charlotte-based squad has confirmed its car will have an American debut before it travels to Europe to begin testing ahead of its maiden Formula 1 season.

"Because we are a new team and start everything from zero the first time we will run the car will be in the United States at the Barber Motorsport Park in Alabama, the circuit that was nominated by the FIA for us," sporting director Peter Windsor told the official Formula 1 website.

"We've got the dispensation from the FIA, which is fantastic, because we are not based in Europe. We are the only team that does have a test circuit outside Europe, so it is totally logical for us that we run the car the first time in the US at the beginning of February."

Windsor said the team is allowed to carry out three testing sessions in the US, but will then fly to Spain to join its rivals.

He added that US F1 is on the verge of announcing its drivers for the upcoming season.

"We are very close to announcing our drivers," he said. "We've been talking to some great racing drivers over the last couple of months - and it is very difficult choosing from the good drivers that are around.

"I think there are still a lot and the difficult thing is to choose only two out of ten that are available. It's a difficult job and I hate having to do that. We have not signed our forward deals yet in terms of the contracts, but we are pretty near to announcing."

Parece ser que el día 7 habló en Radio Universidad el manager de Pechito, Felipe Mc Gough, y tiró la onda de que De La Rosa estaba muy cerca de entrar en USF1.

USF1 avrebbe chiesto una deroga alla FIA per iniziare la stagione a partire dal quinto GP stagionale, il primo in Europa, a Barcellona. L'indiscrezione, apparsa sulla Gazzetta dello Sport, evidenzierebbe una volta di più le difficoltà che la squadra americana sta incontrando nonostante le parole di Peter Windsor. USF1 è l'unico team a non avere ancora annunciato l'ingaggio di un pilota per la stagione 2010. Se la notizia troverà conferma, USF1 salterà i GP di Bahrain, Australia, Malesia e Cina. Non è certo l'inizio che la FIA si aspettava. In attesa di certezze economiche anche il team Campos Meta 1 Dallara, mentre Lotus e Virgin/Manor sembrano pronte.

A mi me parecería una vergüenza que la FIA permitiese a un equipo no acudir a cuatro GP's, es que como lo acepte estará reconociendo públicamente que la elección de los tres nuevos equipos no fue del todo correcta ni bajo un baremo objetivo. Muy serio todo este asunto. Ahora me vienen a la cabeza las declaraciones de Ecclestone...

Si es verdad esa noticia sería para no dejarles competir jamás.

O estás o no estás, que hay equipos como Stefan GP o Epsilon que podrían dar guerra y de momento no tienen derecho a ello, sería una vergüenza.

John Anderson joins US F1 team

John AndersonThe US F1 team has announced that John Anderson has joined the American squad as its new team manager.

Anderson has spent the last 30 years working in several motorsports categories in the US, including jobs with Gerry Forsythe, Barry Green, Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt Jr.

Most recently, Anderson was the team manager for Gil de Ferran's ALMS squad.

"I've known John and been close with him for nearly 20 years - to be able to hire someone as experienced, as organized and as successful as he is will only enhance our team as we move forward," said team principal Ken Anderson.

"He is simply the best at what he does and knows what it takes to be successful in motorsports."

John Anderson added: "I came to the U.S. for what I thought was a few years and I've never left, and I've had some good runs. Now to be able to have the opportunity to work with America's Formula 1 team, especially with my long-time friend Ken Anderson, is an unbelievable opportunity.

"Ken's mindset of US F1 - to have an open mind, be flexible and explore best practices, is why I'm here and I want to be a part of this."

F1: USF1 Denies Sitting Out Early 2010 Races

Team sources have denied suggestions that USF1 has asked to be excused from the opening races of the 2010 season.

According to Italy's Gazzetta Sportiva, the American team has requested dispensation to sit out the flyaway rounds Bahrain, Australia, Malaysia and China in March and April, and instead make its formula one debut the following month in Barcelona.

But late Sunday, sources close to USF1 denied the reports, instead echoing Peter Windsor's comments of last week.

The USF1 sporting director had told F1's official website: "I can't say any more than that we will definitely be on the Bahrain grid."

Two more news developments also seem to show that USF1's intention to travel to Bahrain for the season opener
remains on track.

The team has signed Australian John Anderson, well known in American open wheel racing and most recently working with Gil de Ferran's American Le Mans team, to be its team manager.

Secondly, the team said the nose section of its 2010 car "performed well" when it was crash-tested in England last week.
