Unas letras para decir que me gustó mucho la carrera del Domingo. Me gustó sobre todo por la cantidad de imágenes desde el cockpit que sacaron. Era espectacular ver como contravolantaban los pilotos cuando el coche se iba. Quizás falten imágenes desde el cockpit en la F1?

Bueno, como sigámos así nos van a faltar todo tipo de imágenes de la F1 en este país.

En fin, un espectáculo y una buena carrera. Lástima lo de Oriol y lo de Bourdais que hubiesen luchado delante si no llega a ser por los problemas.

Bueno, por fin me paso mi tia la cinta de la carrera de la Cart y realmente impresionante la realización, esperemos que al acabarse el pago por visión de la F1 podamos ver carreras como las de antaño, por que las ultimas realizaciones en abierto (por lo menos las que veíamos en España) no eran muy buenas, y ojo, no quiero meterme con nadie ni ninguna cadena ni nada, solo pretendo aplaudir y tratar de que se fijen en como se retransmite la Cart. Saludos.

Parece que la mala suerte que le perseguía va auedando a un lado. Esperemos que siga la racha porque su trabajo esta siendo reconodico en el equipo. Y parece que es muy valorado.

Ya es 7º del Campeonato

ERIC MAUK: Again the first podium again of the year for Patrick and his .704-second margin behind Jourdain marks the second consecutive race that the top-three finishers have finished within a second of each other. We're now joined by tonight's runner-up Oriol Servia, who earned a career-best finish of second place tonight, marking his third consecutive top-five finish. Congratulations, how does it feel?


ORIOL SERVIA: Obviously I am happy, since the beginning of the season we have been quick and every weekend something happens that didn't allow to us finish up there. It's good to at least just break through that and finish second. The European races, I think we lost a little bit of speed, but we were able to at least finish two solid races, 4th and 5th, and here, I think we put together the speed and a good finish which is good. Obviously Michel was very strong. I think I need to work on the restarts. (LAUGHTER). Tracy showed me that. But then I was able to give it back to him which is a nice feeling. Paul is not an easy man to pass so it was a good thing. As I said, I think the orange color became red at some point with that battle, but it was just good. The car ran very well the whole race on all tires, cold tires, a lot of fuel, no fuel, so it was nice.


ERIC MAUK: Tell us about that last restart, you seemed to have a shot at him at the end.


ORIOL SERVIA: He's not here to defend himself, but there is a restart cone in Turn 3 and he started the drive between 2 and 3, okay, and then the last two he was on power in Turn 2. I was like, hey, what is going to happen? But he was trying, you know, you always try to push the limit until the car tells you something, so he did what he had to do, and it is a good thing we had a pace car. He had a non-mistake race. He was strong all the time so I think obviously I was going to try to steal it from him, but I think -- I don't know what was his fastest lap times were, but pretty close to each other.


ERIC MAUK: A lot of people were talking about the cold tonight. Worried about how fast the tires would come up. How long did it take?





ORIOL SERVIA: We were all worried because -- actually Bridgestone was saying under 50 degrees, be careful, and it was 50 degrees before we started, so I was like, okay. But the truth is cold tires out of the pits, I would go out and Turn 3 and 4 which is the first turn you make, the tires were cold and just ooh -- but by the time you go to 1 and 2 it was already almost good and then in the next lap it was fine, so I don't think it was that big of a deal. The car was very consistent and even when the tires were getting very cold, at least my car, it was not the front or the rear -- they -- both ends were giving out the same so it was actually the tires, I think, honestly, they performed really well.


ERIC MAUK: We'll open it up for questions.


Q. You came out of the race smiling after battling with Paul Tracy. What did you learn from each other tonight?


ORIOL SERVIA: I need to see those restarts because it's true, I couldn't get that close to Michel and he was able to be that close to me. Maybe he had higher pressure; maybe that's why he was getting loose and I was able to pass him back. It's always a trade-off. Sometimes you are better on the restart and then you pay for that. I don't know. But I learned that -- what is nice, it was good racing as it should be. It was close. I tell you, Paul didn't give me one millimeter extra, any corner, we were side by side. And I think I did the same with him. We were fair to each other and it was -- it is nice to race like that

Oriol vuelve a hacer una carrera meritoria aunque el resultado podría haber sido algo mejor si Junqueira no le hubiera adelantado.

En el campeonato ya ha superado a Bourdais, uno de los favoritos para ganar el campeonato y que sigue con mala suerte.

Muy buena carrera de Oriol. Ha marcado tiempos de vuelta muy buenos (casi como Tracy).

Lástima que no ha podido en toda la carrera con Tagliani. Ha ido desde el principio al fin detrás de él. Además en el último pit stop le pasaron Junqueira y Burdais (que tuvo que retirarse cuando iba tercero después de pasar el último en la primera vuelta). En las últimas vueltas iba algo más lento justo cuando todos hacían sus mejores tiempos (quizás algún problema con el coche).

No sé si Oriol no tenía suficiente velocidad punta para adelantar o no quería arriesgar. Pero cuando iba cuarto tenía que haberle metido el cuchillo a Tagliani un poco más. Se asomaba al final de recta muchas veces pero nunca estaba lo suficientemente cerca como para intentarlo. Tampoco se trataba de hacer lo que hizo Tracy (marrullero a más no poder) que sacó a otro piloto (Carpentier?) justo después de que este le pasase y perdiese el primer puesto. Además Tracy tuvo una penalización por un incidente en boxes. Lo de Tracy era para un "drive through" o "stop-and-go" como mínimo.

Muy buena carrera a pesar de ser un circuito corto. Con adelantamientos y emoción. Por cierto, creo que Serviá lleva ya varias carreras seguidas entre los seis primeros (creo qu 5). No está mal.

Servia esta en el grupo de los cinco primeros desde que empezó el campeonato, solo la mala suerte inicial hace que no este un poco más arriba; bajo mi punto de vista solo le hace falta una victoria que le de alas para el campeonato. Por cierto, ¿quien creeis que ganará esta temporada el campeonato?, yo creo que es muy difícil pronosticar algo pues hay un grupo de cinco/seis pilotos que todas las carreras estan ahí.

Bueno, hasta hoy no he podido ver la carrera.

La maniobra de Paul Tracy chocando con Michael Jourdain Jr. me pareció muy guarra. En la TV se veía como Michael Jourdain le tenía ganada claramente la posición, pero Tracy no quiso ceder. Tampoco fué muy limpio al salir de boxes y bloquear a Jourdain, pero esto parece ser bastante normal en la Champ Car. Además tengo la impresión de que no llegó a cumplir totalmente la (ya de por sí requítica) sanción de 5 segundos. Soy el único al que le parece que sólo cumplió 3 o 4 de los 5 segundos? Porque según tengo entendido el tiempo cuenta desde que se retira la manguera.

Muy bueno el adelantamiento de Adrián Fernández sobre Tracy. Y también muy bien Oriol Servià que se está mostrando muy sólido. Lástima de la mala suerte que tuvo en las primeras carreras que le impide estar luchando por el título. A ver si pronto cae una victoria!

Por cierto, la carrera la retransmite en directo EuroSport a las 2.30 horas de la madrugada, asi que quien quiera, después de un par de copitas, Cart!! y a ver si Oriol consigue podio!

Yo lo voy a ver, no quiero decirlo pero para cuando Oriol haga lo que estoy pensando, lo quiero ver en directo.
