Creo que si que se aclaro el tema con Lauda.

Para mi que en Jaguar a Lauda le trilearon tanto o mas que a Pedro. Aquello era una casa de p***s y no podia salir nada bueno. Claro que esto se sabe a posteriori. En el momento parecia una opcion excelente y que reflejaba el gran valor de Pedro.

Porsche ha descartado su entrada en la F1 en un futuro próximo.

Al negar que el reciente desarrollo de su infraestructura fuera en preparación de su paso a los grandes premios, el director de motorsport del fabricante alemán de coches deportivos declaraba: "Nuestra participación en deportes de motor no es solo en interés propio, sino que queremos satisfacer los deseos de nuestros clientes."

Los comentarios aparecía en el Financial Times Deutschland.

Tal como están las cosas, no hay espacio para un equipo nuevo, ya que Prodrive ocupará en 2008 el 12º y último puesto disponible en la parrilla. Otros, incluyendo al expropietario de Minardi, Paul Stoddart, hicieron propuestas para convertirse en el 12º equipo, pero fue Dave Richards quien recibió la aprobación. Cualquier nuevo constructor, por tanto, debería comprar un equipo ya existente.

mira que se llegan a oir estupideces en esto de la F1, que Dennis se lleva a Hamilton y Michael ocupa el volante del otro McLaren para hacer pareja con Alonso, y claro tambien esta que Ross Brawn se queda como jefe de la escuderia McLaren-Mercedes y despues de todo esto el periodista se desperto al caerse al suelo desde su cama, con todos mis respetos: venga ya....

Hola a todos, me uno a todos los recelosos de la pareja de ingleses, no tanto por ser ingleses, sino por ser quienes son....
En cuanto a lo de Prodrive, yo pienso como alguno comentó mas atras, que en el momento que tito Ron no esté en McLaren, el nene ya no tendrá padrino, Mercedes no se dejará, y solo dependerá de los resultados que consiga este año, que pueden ser buenos o no, eso está por ver, yo pienso que dependerá mucho del coche que consigamos tener, pues si el coche no es el mejor de parrilla, con Fernando, podemos estar ahí luchando por el titulo, pero él no pasara de un discreto papel, al igual que pasó con Fisico en Renault.
En todo caso, veo alguna posibilidad en Mercedes el año que viene, alguna..., y veo alguna en Prodrive,y por que no, en algun otro equipo...y pienso que si no pasa algun percance raro, Pedro el año que viene si no ha corrido nada en éste, lo que tiene que coger es lo que pille y correr para acabar corriendo su carrera.
Tambien estoy con los que piensan que Pedro sabe mas que lo que dice, esto es como una partida de ajedrez, y ya llevan unos cuantos movimientos, espero que Pedro haya conseguido algun rédito del desastre que le han hecho con Hamilton....

Según diferentes informaciones, Prodrive, que se convertirá en el 12º equipo de la parrilla de la F1 en 2008, podría haber cerrado un acuerdo para la compra de Aston Martin.

Con el respaldo financiero de inversores norteamericanos y de Oriente Medio, el propietario de Prodrive, David Richards, lidera un consorcio que al parecer podría haber presentado una oferta a Ford de 900 millones de dólares para la compra Aston Martin.

La última oferta incluso podría haber alcanzado los 965 millones de dólares. Se espera que el acuerdo sea anunciado oficialmente mañana viernes en el Salón del Automóvil de Ginebra.


Prodrive no ha querido hacer ningún comentario, pero Ford podría haberse inclinado por la oferta de Prodrive porque la compañía ya participa en el programa de competición de turismos de Aston Martin.

Aston Martin corrió en 11 ocasiones en la F1 en 1959-60.

Motores: Las reglas de motores de dos carreras se aplicará ahora sólo al segundo día de práctica y al día de la carrera. Se deberán usar durante las temporadas de 2007, 2008, 2009 y 2010 motores homologados y usados en los últimos dos eventos de 2006.

¿Veremos de nuevo a Pedro en carrera?

Pese a su condición como probador, de la Rosa insiste en los prolegómenos de la competición en que su objetivo siempre es correr, pero entiende que eso es muy difícil, por lo que, pensando en el equipo, sus objetivos a corto plazo son ganar los títulos de pilotos y de constructores: "Si en 2008 no tengo un volante en Fórmula Uno creo que ya será muy difícil conseguirlo. Habrá cambios de reglamento, habrá un equipo más, se darán una serie de cambios que facilitará algunas cosas y si no vuelvo en 2008, cada vez mis posibilidades serán menores, que ya son pocas".

Prodrive group to land Aston MartinJoe Bolger
Ford is just days away from selling its Aston Martin luxury sports car business to a consortium led by David Richards, the former accountant turned rally co-driver and motor racing team manager.

The US car giant is expected to confirm the completion of a deal at the beginning of next week, some six months after the group put the Warwick-shire-based carmaker up for sale.

The two parties are thought to be negotiating over the detail of a deal that will value the Aston Martin business at about £450 million. Ford is understood to have been seeking more than twice that figure when it first put the marque, which was famously James Bond’s car of choice, up for sale.

The consortium, led by Mr Richards’ Prodrive business, includes American and Middle Eastern investors.

Prodrive, which works with manufacturers, using its technology to improve the performance of their cars, already has close links with Aston Martin. It started working with the carmaker three years ago to develop its Aston Martin Racing team, which competes in sports car races, including the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Mr Richards is best known as the former boss of BAR, the Formula One racing team that is home to Jenson Button and has since been renamed Honda Racing after the Japanese motor company took a stake. He is also a former boss of the Benetton Formula One team.

Prodrive is set to enter the 2008 Formula One championship under its own name and also runs the Subaru team in the World Rally Championship.

Doughty Hanson, the private equity group, and Simon Halabi, the Syrian property developer, are both thought to have expressed an interest in buying Aston Martin.

Doughty Hanson dropped its offer to between £350 million and £400 million last week after discovering certain previously undisclosed items in Aston Martin’s books.

The items related to pensions, executive car perks and costs related to safety and engineering tests that were previously provided and paid for by Ford but that would now be the responsibility of Aston’s new owners.

Ford is not thought to have asked for nonpublic information on Aston Martin to be returned or destroyed, indicating that it had been keeping the door open for the other bidders.

Some 30 bidders are thought to have origingally expressed an interest in buying the group, which was founded nearly 90 years ago and which last year made 7,000 cars.

The sale comes amid turmoil in the US car market, where overseas entrants, including Toyota, are winning sales at the cost of local manufacturers such as Ford and General Motors.

Ford has been restructuring its operations after reporting losses of close to $13 billion for last year.

Business big shot David Richards

David Richards is one of the most charismatic leaders in British motor racing and has a passion for Aston Martins. A trained accountant, he started his career in cars as a rally co-driver and quickly progressed through the ranks until he partnered Ari Vatanen to the World Rally Championship in 1979.

With the knowledge he acquired of the carmakers that supported the championship and a contacts book full of names, Mr Richards launched his own business, Prodrive. Twenty years later, he employs 1,000 in a company earning about £160 million a year as one of the technology leaders in the motor industry.

Prodrive, based in Banbury, has a portfolio of blue-chip car companies using its research and technology capabilities, underlined by success on the track. The Subaru rally team developed by Mr Richards not only provided Britain with its first World Rally Champion driver in Colin McRae in 1995 but transformed the fortunes of Subaru.

But Mr Richards, 54, is best-known for his work in Formula 1. He turned a struggling BAR Honda team into contenders and rescued the career of Jenson Button (pictured, right, with Mr Richards). His own F1 team will be on Grand Prix circuits next year.

He convinced Aston Martin to return to sportscar racing, finding success at Le Mans. Proof of his love for the car can be found in the fact that Mr Richards drives an Aston Martin Vanquish to work. (Kevin Eason)

Up to now one had said, mcLaren Mercedes-team boss Ron Dennis would be interested.

KUWAIT • Kuwait's Investment Dar and Adeem Investment Co agreed to buy a stake in Aston Martin, the iconic British carmaker made famous by the James Bond spy movies, an Investment Dar official said.

The two companies, which share Kuwait's Efad Holding as a stockholder, are inviting journalists to an 0900 GMT signing ceremony in London on Monday to give more details about the agreement, said the official, who did not want to be identified.

"The deal has been approved. Monday is just for public relations," the official said from Kuwait.

The two companies will own a minority stake in the Ford Motor Co unit, said the official, unable to give further details.

Kuwait's Al Qabas newspaper on Sunday reported that Investment Dar, Kuwait's largest diversified holding company, is leading a group of companies to buy a 15-20 per cent stake in Aston Martin for about £400m ($772.6m).

Asked if the report was correct, one of two Investment Dar officials, who declined to be identified, told Reuters earlier yesterday: "Yes, but right now I have no information available to deliver to you. We have to wait until tomorrow, then we can discuss it."

Adnan Al Mussallam, Investment Dar's chairman, and Walid Al Humaidhi, Efad's chairman, could not immediately be reached for comment. They are in London. Mustafa Al Saleh, Adeem's CEO, is also out of Kuwait and could not immediately be reached.

Adeem is an investment and asset management company that complies with Islamic law, which bans investment in industries such as alcohol, gambling and weapons. Efad Holding has interests in real estate, contracting and hospitality.
