It's reported in the spanish media that Pedro de la Rosa is in the list of possible drivers for Jordan in 2005, with the support of the Spanish multinational of oil Repsol that would contribute with 10 millions dollars.

De la Rosa was a pilot very quoted in the season 2000 but his mistake was not to go away from Arrows when he had a couple of good offers from other teams.

With these 10 millions that Repsol contributes, Jordan would have the money to pay low price engines from Toyota.

What do you think about this?

I remember a report in which someone of Mercedes proposed it in exchange for the current regulation of engines was not changing, but I believe that there is nothing sure.

Toyota is the only constructor that has offered engines to 11 millions dollars at this moment.

To remember also that Jordan has contract with Ford for the supply of engines, but this agreement would be annulled if they obtain engines cheaper than 15 millions, Ford's current price.

Requetegood. Perhaps Toyota or BAR... Who knows with this silly season?

In some English forums I have read some pejorative messages, about this Pedro's move from McLaren tester to Jordan, referring to Pedro like a pay-driver. Do you agree? Do you think that Pedro is like Yoong, Mazzacane or Diniz?

Well, my answer:

http://www.pedrodelarosa.com/angles/palmares.asp

So we can see that Pedro deserved a seat in F1, without any sponsorship help. It's obvious that in some teams is quite important the money that a driver could bring with him. This is something quite common. So I think it's normal that Pedro and Repsol joined forces in the past and it would be likely, and logical, again in the future.

Pedro should be one of the first options for a team like Jordan. Any other better candidate?

If he does not race in F1 again, it would be one of the biggest what if in this sport.
¿what if the Jaguar would have been more competitive or the Arrows more reliable?
¿what if he had gone to Toyota when he could?
¿what if he was born in England or Germany?
Let's hope this time he gets a competitive racing seat. He deserves and, above all, he has the skills to be there. More than many that are boring us every racing weekend...
