Tess.. de lo que tenía muchas posibilidades era de pilotar y ser el elegido del 2008... como no lo ha sido la conclusion inmediata es: LO ESTAN PUTEANDO.

O se tiene que largar corriendo de ahí!!!... para que?... par ser Tester en otro equipo?... La respuesta la da el mismo Pedro en sus declaraciones en la presentación de McLaren.

No, no digo que no hemos hecho trampa, si la hemos hecho, tenemos nuestro castigo, lo estamos pagando, y lo veo justo.
Lo que me jode(con perdon), es que ferrari diga todo lo que dijo de mclaren y Ron(ojo, no defiendo a mclaren ni a Ron), Como si ferrari fuera el equipo santo, victimas, como si NUNCA hubieron hecho absolutamente ilegal en este deporte. como dijo el forista antes, me parece un cinismo sin precedentes. desde que sigo la F1, todos las verguenzas, tristezas, trampas, decisionas de la FIa con beneficio directo, fue Ferrari. es que toda la verguenza da la ultima decada, es Roja, y algunas tan descaradas que la vimos en directo. El que este libre de pecado, que tire la primera piedra, y Ferrari, desde luego, no esta libre de pecado.

No entendí nada de lo que dijo (snifffffff, mi inglés no pasa del jelous y voy que me mato).
Ahora bien, que lo han puteao, lo han puteao, y eso lo sabemos todos, las cosas como son. Que tenga o quiera quedarse es otro cantar, pero que le hicieron la puñeta, vaya si se la hicieron.

Pedro sabe como anda todo... y a estado al tanto, que lo acepte no quiere decir que lo esten puteando. El sabía que había y que no había. La decepción no cuenta como puteo... y lo digo yo que todavía no lo he digerido. Por eso quiero "apartarme" del tema personal de Pedro y centrarme en lo deportvio y real y la realidad es que, seguimos de tester y que las oportunidades se reducen año tras año... eso no quiere decir que no se haya trabajado en la linea correcta para conseguirlo.

Kit, pero lo mas triste de todo es que nadie parece, y digo parece porque no lo sabemos, haber preguntado por Pedro.

¿Realmente un piloto de su categoeria no puede encontrar un asiento en F1?, o es que desgraciadamente ¿el dinero lo es todo?.

Fisico se lo ha currado y asiento al canto. Si, una castaña de coche, pero pilotando esta, y si Pedro a comentado mil veces que prefiere ser tester en un gran equipo a piloto en uno mediocre. Pero, ¿no seria mejor acabar en la pista?. Esto lo tambien lo dijo, en su momento, quizas le dejen un gran premio para poder retirarse.

En fin, todo da mucha pena. McLaren no se merece una persona de su categoria.

TESS el año passado McLaren no se gastó ni un solo euro en la presentación. El govierno valenciano pagó un millonada ( no recuerdo si eran 6 o 7 millones de Euros ) y todos los gastos pagados.
Vaya que la presentación de McLaren y Alonso la pagamos todos.

Peor me lo pones, todo eran elogios al equipo por tamaña presentación.
Sabía que Mercedes había puesto coches para regalar o sortear entre los invitados, Vodafone regaló móviles a diestro y siniestro, tenia entendido que Mclaren pagaba a los del circo soleil (pedazo de pestiño en la presentación), pero bueno, es igual, ni comparación con lo que han echo este año

Que la FIA no se haya pronunciado sobre ello o que McLaren no lo haya denunciado, no es óbice para poder decir que en Ferraqri hubo órdenes de equipo para lograr el título en la última carrera, y que están prohibidas. Que el hecho no haya sido formalmente sancionado, no quiere decir que no haya ocurrido, todo el mundo vió y escuchó las declaraciones de Massa. ¿Alguién sabe dónde están las transcricpiones de aquel día?. La realidad no existe o deja de existir porque se aplique una sanción, son cosas diferentes. Que McLaren no haya denunciado por ese tema, pues sus razones tendrá (la primera que se me ocurre es que eso hacía campeón a FA, y lo del combustible, a Hamilton).Todo lo que ha hecho McLaren este año es muy absurdo, eso no quiere decir nada. Han fichado a un pupilo de Briatore después de denunciar a Renault, eso tampoco tiene mucha lógica a priori.

Desde mi punto de vista, Ferrari tampoco ha respetado las normas, hubo órdenes de equipo en favor de Kimi, pero me parece perfecto porque opino que no deberían estar prohibidas, ya que son del todo lógicas. Pero una vez que existen, deben ser para todos y todos deben respetarlas, máxime si queremos decir que tal o cual equipo es el adalid de la legalidad, y que los demás deben aprender lecciones.

Pues sinceramente creo que si Fisico hubiese podido ser probador de Ferrari o McLaren lo hubiese sido antes que saltar de un Renault para pilotar un FORCE INDIA...

El unico volante apetecible o interesante o con posibilidades que mmmm se pueda pilotar es HONDA y creo que hay que trabajar duro ahí!!! sobretodo porque seguro que Brawn agradecera que se llegue al equipo con grandes conocimientos de los rivales y experiencia en el tema!!!

Gracias KIT por la aclaracion. Yo no considero a Hamilton enemigo publico numero 1...pero no me gusta un pelo aunque no le deseo nada malo.
En cuestion de gustos, manias e idolatrias todos somos libres de pensar lo que queramos...y por eso sigo este foro, porque hay mucha disparidad de ideas y por tanto objetividad.

Lo único que deseo este año es que o Ferrari se ponga las botas o que FA con el Rinol a pedales al menos le gane una vez a su amigo Jaimilton, ya tengo preparada la sidra. También me gustaría que Kova le diera una pasadita a Jaimilton, aunque no se lo van a permitir.

Igualmente el que tú digas que existieron tampoco quiere decir que existieran, como el que yo diga que no existieron tampoco significa que no existieran. Así que... ¿qué?

Cuestión de opiniones toda vez que no se ha probado nada al respecto (ni se puede probar).

Si no recuerdo mal la norma contra las órdenes de equipo reza algo así como "las órdenes de equipo están prohibidas" así que ya me dirás cómo controlas eso... Que conste que, como es sabido, yo estoy también a favor de las órdenes de equipo pero creo que en Brasil no sucedieron igual que no sucedieron en Francia. Está claro que Massa no iba a forzar para impedir el título de su compañero de equipo cuando él no podía ganarlo pero, aunque hubiera querido no hubiera podido, en mi opinión. Raikkonen estuvo tres vueltas más en la pista y las aprovechó. Pero, lo dicho, es indemostrable. El que le diera las gracias en la rueda de prensa sólo quiere decir que estaba agradecido por no haber forzado las cosas, eso no prueba nada, obviamente.

Por lo demás, supongo que esto ya se discutió en el tópic del GP de Brasil. O no.

Raquel, cómo se consigue un título creo que sí tiene que ver con la F1. Y en cuanto a saltar con "rabia" o con "ira", creo que no es el caso, y menos entre los intervinientes de este foro.

Pero de todos modos, conviene puntualizar que el tema ha empezado con que McLaren debía aprender la lección en palabras de F399, luego ahora no creo que haya que lamentarse de que el topic tome derroteros sobre las opiniones que podemos tener en cuanto a cómo actúan las diferentes escuderías cuando compiten.

Por último, efectivamente es difícil de probar, pero bajo mi opinión personal, que Massa declare que se ha sacrificado por el equipo (es decir, ha puesto sus intereses deportivos por detrás de los de su compañero de equipo, ha sido perjudicado por éste) y que así se le agradezca públicamente, si no es una prueba, al menos es un indicio muy muy poderoso para pensar que ha habido órdenes de equipo para garantizar la victoria de Kimi, en este caso en detrimento directo de Fernando Alonso (podría ser otro piloto, es igual). Pero efectivamente, no había un notario en el momento en que Ferrari acordó beneficiar a Kimi.

Ahora sí estamos de acuerdo AC99.

Sinceramente creo que McLaren tiene una lección que aprender de lo que le ha pasado esta temporada, fuera y dentro de la pista. Como Ferrari ha tenido que aprender muchas otras lecciones otras veces (y lo ha hecho, creo yo: no se ha vuelto a ver nada parecido a Austria 2002) y seguramente haya dejado de aprender otras que debería haber aprendido, lógica y desgraciadamente.

En cualquier caso, a lo que no me canso de responder nunca es a las generalidades del tipo "pues anda que no ha hecho trampas Ferrari, menudos son". Me rebelo contra eso, no me gusta esa generalización que identifica a Ferrari con trampas porque sí (¡gracias Lobato!), y pienso contestar cada vez que se diga porque me parece injusto.

No digo que Ferrari sea perfecta y no haya hecho cosas mal hechas, seguro que sí. Lo que no acepto es que se insinúe que todo lo que ha hecho siempre esté mal y que se asocie Ferrari con trampas, en primer lugar porque es injusto al ser una generalización y en segundo porque es mentira.

F399, ya se que es hilar muy fino pero en mi cabeza aparecieron este tipo de imágenes al ver las fotos:




Esta tarde he visto imágenes del Ferrari rodando y cuando se ve de frente he vuelto a tener esa misma sensación.Es que me da la impresión después de años años de coches de diseños cada vez mas rectos, angulosos y afilados vuelve a intentar recupera el espíritu de la curva.Pero sólo me ocurre cuando lo veo de frente, en las imágenes laterales vuelve a ser este tipo de coche de ahora del que Pedro llego a comentar que es incluso peligroso si no andas con ojo cuando estas cerca de el de lo cortante que es todo.

Pero no me hagas mucho caso.Supongo que son cosas mías.

Ultimamente no estoy a la ultima, y me ha llamado la atención algo que encuentro raramente sospechoso tanto en el Ferrari como en el McLaren, que son los grandes "muñones" que estan situados a lado y lado del casco del piloto; son exageradamente grandes y parecen "torpes" aerodinámicamente hablando. Me recuerdan a coches de hace una década... puede ser que hayan modificado la normativa de choque lateral y necesiten ese elemento extra para el impacto lateral? (suena raro, pero no le encuentro mas logica...).

Sí, Philip, es por normativa: han aumentado en altura y grosor los protectores laterales del cockpit. Todo eso viene por el accidente Wurz-Coulthard del GP Australia 2007.

Technical specifications of the TF108

Since making its Formula 1 debut in 2002, Panasonic Toyota Racing has strengthened and learnt from experience. The challenge of building the entire car – chassis and engine – under one roof, with a new team is significant but everyone at the Cologne technical centre is impatient to succeed and great strides continue to be made towards the ultimate goal.



“We look in good shape for 2008, there is no question about that. The hard work continues all the time. We started the TF108 in earnest more or less the day the TF107 hit the track and the development has been remorseless, which it has to be because of the competitive pressure of Formula 1,” President John Howett says. “The key issue has been to identify the major elements which contribute to performance enhancement and put more resources into those areas. Clearly the car is improving, I think, dramatically and continually, but so are the other cars. It is therefore the relative rate of performance gain that is absolutely critical. We have to work harder and smarter than our competitors.”



The TF108 is significantly different to its predecessor, on the outside and the inside, as a result of the team’s continuous search for improvement, as well as regulation changes.



Formula 1 technology is constantly evolving and the team’s designers have kept pace, resulting in noticeable changes for the TF108. A key change is that increase in wheelbase, the distance between front and rear axles.



“The main reason for making the wheelbase longer is to achieve more stability, but secondly we also expect greater aerodynamic development potential, giving our aerodynamicists wider surfaces and more space to play with,” Senior General Manager Chassis Pascal Vasselon explains.



As well as a longer wheelbase, the TF108 boasts a distinctive new aerodynamic concept and advanced suspension lay-outs.



“The aerodynamic concept of this car has changed,” adds Pascal. “The TF107 was an evolution of the TF106 but this time the new package is a departure from recent Toyotas. The primary aerodynamic design philosophy for the TF108 is geared towards optimising the entire package. In mechanical terms we felt we had a strong basis so we have focused on making a few refinements.”



A key element of Toyota Way thinking is genchi genbutsu - going to the source - and in developing the TF108, Pascal and his team have analysed the TF107’s characteristics to find performance solutions.



“In 2007, the performance overall was not where it had to be so there were obviously some weaknesses,” he said. “The objectives for TF108 development are aerodynamic efficiency and drivability. For 2008, we want a car offering a wider operating window.”



Improvement is not restricted to chassis development and under the skin of the TF108 lies a new gearbox and, importantly, a new electronic control unit (ECU) for the RVX-08 engine.



In 2008, all teams must use the same ECU while electronic driver aids such as traction control and engine braking have been banned. The change to a standard ECU represented a major challenge, as Senior General Manager Engine Luca Marmorini explains….



“On a Formula 1 engine, or indeed any modern car engine, even the mechanical parts are controlled by electronics so this is a big, big change. For a high revving engine, like in a Formula 1 car, the engine will definitely change a lot from a dynamic point of view due to a change in the control system. It is a big investment from a development point of view to adapt it.”

Que guapo el casco de Trulli. Se ve al fotógrafo haciendo la foto ahi en un escorzo!! Me recuerda al mio de la moto, un simil del q tuvo Capirossi en 1990, asi tipo espejo.

Esperemos que este sea el defeinitivo TOYOTA que los mande pa arriba!!! PORQUE desde el 2002 dando penita pena.... y gastandose lo que se han gastado en ingeniero, pilotos, instalaciones, plan de desarrollo etc...!!!!

A un equipo como Toyota le correspondría desde hace ya 2 o 3 años estar donde ha estado BMW en la temporada anteriror y tras 6 temporadas en F1 deverian estar preparados para ser campeones... en cambio... ahí los tenemos a ver si este año estan preparados para no tener que luchar con los Aguri.

Uma evolução lógica

Gary Anderson analisa o Ferrari F2008


Como primeiro chassis deste ano a ser apresentado, o F2008 incorpora algumas novidades que têm a ver com os novos regulamentos – mesmo se estes não mudaram muito – e será interessante, depois, comparar a interpretação das novas regras por parte das outras equipas com a da Ferrari. Sendo evidente que o F2008 é uma evolução do chassis do ano passado – e outra coisa não seria de esperar, pois o F2007 venceu o Mundial e foi sempre muito competitivo – o aspecto que mais me chamou a atenção foi a interpretação da Ferrari na introdução das novas protecções laterais da cabeça dos pilotos. Penso que fizeram uma interpretação um pouco brutal das novas regras e acredito que os pilotos vão queixar-se muito de falta de visibilidade lateral quando começarem a testar com outros carros em pista.

Isto pode ter consequências na forma como os pilotos vão actuar no início da corridas, quando terão outros carros ao seu lado, bem como nas disputas mais cerradas, como aquela que o Massa teve com o Kubica na última volta do GP da China.

O outro aspecto mais interessante do F2008 tem a ver com a opção por uma enorme secção frontal no ponto de ligação do terceiro elemento da asa anterior com o nariz do carro. Pela minha experiência essa é uma solução que dá bons resultados no túnel de vento e quando se roda isolado, mas quando um piloto está no meio do pelotão perde bastante carga aerodinâmica na frente e isso é sempre mau. Talvez a Ferrari acredite que vai andar sempre na frente e por isso tomou essa opção!

De resto o F2008 não surpreende, assistindo-se ao afinar de algumas soluções anteriores. As entradas de ar para os flancos são maiores, seguramente para evitar os problemas de sobreaquecimento que tiveram no início do ano passado e o triângulo inferior da suspensão da frente tem um ângulo mais crítico do que em 2007, provavelmente para combater a crónica subviragem do Ferrari nas curvas mais lentas. Como se esperava a Ferrari manteve uma ampla distância entre eixos, ficando com muito espaço entre as rodas anteriores e os flancos para trabalhar o fluxo de ar e também deverá ter alterado a distribuição de pesos no sentido de levar mais peso para a traseira do carro, para ganhar tracção, agora que as ajudas electrónicas à pilotagem foram banidas.

Un cortijo para McLaren

MADRID. Los hoteles de Jerez ya estipulan como temporada alta los entrenamientos invernales de Fórmula 1. Precios veraniegos al calor de los rugidos de los monoplazas. La F1 ha desembarcado en Jerez y para algunos se ha convertido en un cortijo. McLaren se ha encerrado en el circuito andaluz como un ensayo futbolero sin público y durante tres días, al módico coste de 7.000 euros por jornada de trabajo, hace y deshace sin la presencia de miradas curiosas.
Desde el miércoles la escudería de Ron Dennis ha alquilado Jerez con todos sus servicios. La Federación Internacional (FIA) exige determinadas condiciones para sus entrenamientos y el trazado ha puesto a disposición de Hamilton, Kovalainen y De la Rosa veinte comisarios en puestos de control, equipos de bomberos, médicos, ATS, ambulancias, un hospital, coches de rescate, helicópteros y demás coberturas de primera necesidad. Todo para que rueden tres pilotos.
La costumbre impone otro tipo de hábitos. Las escuderías se ponen de acuerdo para arrendar los circuitos y reducir los costes. Y en contra de la leyenda del despilfarro, el glamour y todas esas cosas que navegan por el «paddock», pelean euro a euro cada servicio, cada coche de asistencia.
McLaren ha ocupado Jerez con toda su propaganda a cuestas. Ha decorado por completo cada valla, cada cartel, cada esquina con sus patrocinadores. Convertido el trazado en un cortijo privado, la escudería de Dennis rentabiliza los días para la promoción además de los entrenamientos. Está grabando los anuncios publicitarios que luego inundarán medio mundo con la imagen de Lewis Hamilton y Heikki Kovalainen, la pareja titular.
La idea común de la amplitud de medios es un fiel reflejo de la realidad. McLaren suele desplazar cada semana de ensayos a unas sesenta personas: ingenieros, mecánicos, coordinadores, conductores, cocineros, gente de marketing, de prensa. Y el extra de los encargados de la película publicitaria. Todo funciona en tonos plata en Jerez.
Y a pesar de ese contingente, del trasiego masivo de personal y material, la información permanece oculta. Los empleados de Jerez no ofrecen testimonio por el servicio de confidencialidad hacia su cliente y McLaren ya se ocupa de lanzar los mensajes convenientes. Si ayer hubo un accidente o una sucesión de trompos de Hamilton, es muy probable que pasase desapercibido en los periódicos de hoy.
Así no es de extrañar que el material informativo distribuido por el departamento de relaciones externas de McLaren conduzca a la felicidad. Hamilton realizó el mejor tiempo del trío encartado y se declaró entusiasmado. «Ha sido fantástico poner mis manos en el MP4-23. Yo vi el coche terminado por primera vez el pasado lunes en la presentación en Stuttgart y he estado impaciente desde entonces».
Un rosario de tópicos vía comunicado. «Las sensaciones son positivas. Tenemos mucho trabajo por hacer, pero ahora tenemos un verdadero punto de partida».

Todo el equipo Ferrari está esta semana de fiesta en Madonna di Campiglio en el tradicional encuentro con la nieve que marca el punto de arranque de la temporada. De todas formas, la actividad en la Scuderia no cesa y sus ingenieros trabajan a tope para ultimar la puesta a punto del F2008 de cara a los primeros test de la próxima semana.

Después de que el pasado domingo fuera presentado el monoplaza en Maranello y que el lunes Kimi Raikkonen realizara los primeros kilómetros en el circuito de Fiorano, el F2008 regresó ayer a la pista para hacer unas pruebas de aerodinámica en el trazado de Vairano, en las proximidades de Milán.

El piloto catalán, que empieza su cuarta temporada como piloto de Ferrari, actividad que compaginará como en 2007 compitiendo en las Le Mans Series y en las 24 Horas con Peugeot, se desplazó la noche del miércoles hasta Milán -tres horas y media en coche desde Madonna- para realizar ayer estas pruebas y regresar ayer mismo a la estación de los Dolomitas de Brenta para participar hoy en una exhibición que tendrá lugar sobre un lago helado y en la que participarán sus compañeros de equipo, incluido Michael Schumacher.

La intención del equipo Ferrari es empezar la temporada al cien por cien, evitando los problemas de fiabilidad que les retrasaron las últimas temporadas y que les puso el título cuesta arriba desde las primeras carreras. Por este motivo, partiendo de la experiencia de Renault en 2005 y 2006 o de McLaren en 2007, a partir del lunes habrá dos coches de este año rodando en Jerez a los mandos de Kimi Raikkonen y Felipe Massa, evaluando todos los componentes nuevos del coche y fiabilizando piezas básicas como la caja de cambios, que esta temporada tienen que durar cuatro grandes premios. El reglamento establece que quien la tenga que cambiar antes perderá cinco posiciones en la parrilla de salida.

Gené sigue siendo parte importante del organigrama de pilotos en Ferrari, contrariamente a lo que pudiera pensarse a raiz de la llegada este año de Michael Schumacher como probador de ‘lujo’ y de designarle el número simbólico de piloto número tres tal y como aseguró hace un par de días Luca Cordero di Montezemolo. Su rol en la ‘Scuderia’ sigue siendo el mismo
de siempre.

El debut en pista del nuevo Williams Toyota para esta próxima temporada, el FW30, ha sido retrasado una semana.

El nuevo monoplaza tenía previsto completar sus primeras vueltas el próximo lunes en el circuito de Jerez, pero según publica Auto Motor und Sport, tanto Nico Rosberg como Kazuki Nakajima rodarán la próxima semana en Jerez con el FW29 de la pasada temporada.

"El programa siempre ha ido muy justo," explicaba el Director Técnico Sam Michael. "Así que en lugar de estrenar el coche en Jerez, tendremoS que esperar al siguiente test en Valencia.

Sin embargo, el monoplaza del 2007 con el que Williams probará en Jerez la próxima semana contará ya con la caja de cambios del 2008, la misma que utilizará también Toyota, y que este año deberá ser la misma durante cuatro Grandes Premios consecutivos. .

BMW reveals new deal with T-Systems

Three days before the launch of its 2008 contender, BMW has announced a new partnership with Deutsche Telekom subsidiary T-Systems.

According to the press release, T-Systems, the business customer subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, and BMW will work together to develop innovative Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions.

The company logo will be visible on both the outside and inside of the BMW Sauber F1.08 cockpit area and on the car's nose section, as well as on team clothing and the drivers' helmets.

BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen explains: "The latest IT and telecommunications technology represents an integral part of motor racing. The partnership of T-Systems and BMW brings together two leaders in innovation to create tailor-made solutions for our team. Our new partner possesses both IT and telecommunications know-how and experience and expertise in the automotive sector. This makes T-Systems an ideal partner for us in the development of future technologies which can also offer key benefits for series production."

T-Systems has already set up a high-performance data link to connect the team's locations in Munich and Hinwil. A parts logistics system based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, meanwhile, is currently in the pilot phase. This development focuses on the identification and location of all the car and replacement parts used by the team in its activities around the world. Further research and development projects are also in the pipeline. Under the spotlight here are data security issues, for example, as well as systems for recording service times which are designed to allow the service life of car parts to be optimised. T-Systems sees the new sponsoring partnership as a platform for conducting research and development work under extreme conditions.

"Instead of relying solely on laboratory trials, practical testing on the ground - under the toughest conditions - is also incorporated into the development process," says Reinhard Clemens, Member of the Board of Management at Deutsche Telekom AG responsible for business customers and CEO T-Systems. "This cooperation is a key milestone in the company's drive to become the leading ICT service provider for the automotive sector," he adds.

BMW and T-Systems can already look back on several years of partnership away from the race track. T-Systems has helped develop solutions such as BMW TeleServices, which underpin the data transfer required to carry out maintenance work during a journey. BMW also uses T-Systems' traffic information service TMCpro in its Connected Drive technology for production cars.

David Coulthard has warned that Formula One faces a wet weather safety crisis over new rules to spice up the racing.

The world's top drivers fear the sudden removal of aids like traction control from highlysophisticated modern machines could make cars unacceptably dangerous on rainsoaked tracks.

"The cars have been designed for years with all these driver aids and suddenly taking traction control off could have serious consequences in the wet," said the Scot.

"I'll race in any conditions, but we would all look silly if something was taken away like this and we didn't raise our concerns. It might look OK from the safety of the stewards room but its very different when you are in the car.

"Some people are bound to say drivers are not real men these days but they can say what they like."

The Grand Prix Drivers' Association has started a dialogue with FIA safety delegate Charlie Whiting and the two sides are to meet at the opening race of the season in Australia in March. The issue is top of the agenda when drivers meet at the Valencia test in a fortnight.

Yesterday Coulthard and Jarno Trulli led calls for the issue to be resolved before the first wet race.

The Scot added: "It's all very well for people to say cars have been slowed and that means lower impact speeds, but it discounts the fact that cars are now far more likely to aquaplane in heavy spray."

Coulthard said the hope is that the sport's rulers will not be so quick to dispatch cars on to the track if there is a repeat of conditions experienced at last year's Japanese Grand Prix.

"No one could see a thing in the conditions but we drove with confidence that the cars would all be going in the same direction," said Coulthard.

"But remember the Suzuka 94 race without traction? Martin Brundle hit a marshal and broke his leg in the spray and Johnny Herbert spun on the straight.

"We are trying to remind everyone to act with caution when it comes to a wet race."

Trulli agreed. "I am concerned but I'm not afraid," he said at the launch of Toyota's new F1 challenger in Cologne yesterday. Coulthard said: "You don't send a canoe out in the high seas. You use a speed boat because it's designed for the conditions.

"You don't play football or tennis on a waterlogged surface so why would you race on one? It's not about bravery. It's about common sense and racing according to conditions."

But the Red Bull ace predicted British fans could be in for a treat this season with his team doing battle with BMW for the 'best of the rest' slot while Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button are raring to go. He said: "Lewis is a far more complete driver now and has the armoury to win."

Luca di Montezemolo ha demostrado que todavía no está preparado para pasar página al caso de espionaje que hubo el año pasado entre Ferrari y McLaren. Tech Analysis: Ferrari F2008
The reigning champions unveiled their new challenger at Maranello last weekend, and Craig Scarborough was there to take a closer look at the F2008 and talk to the men who designed it

Perhaps the mood for all of this year's launches was set by Ferrari last weekend, when they revealed the F2008.
The event was low-key, with very little fanfare and degree of openness. To reflect this, after the interviews the car simply sat in the garage and the press allowed to wander around the car and take in the detail.
Not resting on their laurels, the team have announced a new technical structure, to move on from the previous era and plan for the very different technical demands the formula will face over the next few years.
Aldo Costa has stepped up as technical director, with Mario Almondo heading operations and engine man Gilles Simon taking electronics under his wing. Former aero man Nick Tombazis is now chief designer and John Illey is heading the aero department.
The new technical team have tackled the problems faced last year, where the car suffered on bumps, kerbs, low-speed corners and slippery conditions. This shortcoming was punished by McLaren, whose car excelled in these conditions.
The key advantages enjoyed by Ferrari last year were better use of the Bridgestone tyres, and better pace through fast corners. Ferrari correctly identified that a forward weight distribution was required to overcome the weak rear Bridgestone tyres. Thus, they were able to configure their car to move weight where it was needed, and develop more downforce in an equally forward position.

Starting from such a good position, Ferrari needed to make fewer changes to the layout of their car for 2008. Thus, they have focused more on the detail on the car.
Aldo Costa said at the launch that the aim was to develop the car to relieve the weaknesses cited from 2007, without sacrificing the car's plus points. To do this the team altered the aerodynamics and the suspension.
When asked whether the problems last year were caused by stiff suspension or sensitive aerodynamics, Tombazis said the issue was more complex, and that the tyres was as important as the how the suspension allowed the aerodynamics to work.
Evidence that sensitive aero was not the only factor was provided by Tombazis' insight that he felt the wind tunnel's correlation to the real car was good, and that the team were not seeking less sensitive aerodynamics.
Thus, the car in its launch guise was outwardly similar to the outgoing F2007. As always the wings and a lot of the aero add-ons were 2007 items and will radically change before the first race, and in several steps through the year.
Firstly, and barely detectable, is a small change in wheelbase. Possibly overstated by some press in terms of length and importance, this is a minimal change. Cars alter length each year by small amounts, and this year is no different - the change is not a shift in philosophy.
To accommodate the change the front wheels have been moved by an undisclosed amount, but visually it's only a few millimetres.
The front end retains the zero keel set-up used by the team last year. The upper wishbones are spaced away from the monocoque to improve the geometry; in particular how the wheel camber changes as the wheel moves up and down.
More importantly, and also hard to spot, is the amount of work down around the raised portion of the monocoque. The front and dash bulkheads have not been moved, but the area low down ahead of the sidepods has been squeezed in.

This is visible just behind the bargeboards, where the undercut meets the square front of the sidepods. More space in this area allows the front wing wake to form and feed around the sidepods, thus driving the flow over the top of the diffuser and making the car more efficient.
Feeding this is a revised front wing and nosecone. Ferrari's usual bi-plane wing and pointed nose has evolved into wing blending onto a bulbous tip. This appears similar to Toyota's solution, where the blended wing/nose intersection creates a smoother transition from wing to nose, creating less disturbance to the flow around the nose.
Aiding the front wing's efficiency is the sculpting of the underside of the nose cone, which is undercut on both sides to match the flow off the rear edge of the wing, further driving flow to the rear end.
Costa said that these revisions didn't suggest a new splitter or diffuser philosophy:
"In terms of the nose and chassis design, the philosophy doesn't change, but it's just an attempt to make a more efficient shape," he said.
These front end changes do provide some front end downforce, but the greater benefit is the improved flow the rear end. Ferrari appear to have sufficient front downforce, and are now making the excess aid the rear end, which allows less rear wing to be run, reducing drag to increase straight-line speed.
Around the middle of the car the cockpit area has been visibly changed. Firstly, the side padding around the opening has been altered to meet the new rules. The padding is taller, and ramps up at a steeper angle to further protect the drivers head.
Recent cockpit designs have lowered the head protection while still being within the rules. Additionally, the structure supporting the foam padding was an add-on to the monocoque. Now the rules demand that the perimeter of the cockpit is structural, which will add weight to everyone's tubs.
Behind the cockpit, the roll structure and snorkel feeding the engine is all new. The inlet protrudes more and forms the tow hoop. Previously, the car was lifted from a slot moulded through the fuel cell area.
Also the inlet was previously split to feed the engine and a hydraulics cooler through separate ducts. Now, the inlet features a single inlet. According to Tombazis, "We've revised the cooling systems and so have moved things around."
There remains a cooler fed from the back of the airbox, but the set up is now much neater than on the F2007.

Inside the cockpit, the slimmed underside to the monocoque makes its presence felt. The sculpting is visible from within the cockpit, as the area under the drivers thighs is raised and narrowed by the new shape. Kimi Raikkonen mentioned this in his interviews, but didn't feel it was problem.
Following the usual year-on-year development, the rear end of the car is slimmer all round. Most obviously, the engine cover is narrower around the airbox, necessitating bulges to clear the wide base of the airbox, and two strakes added to each side to meet the minimum width of the cover along its spine.
This so-called 'Toblerone' section was mandated to force teams into having bodywork in triangle ahead of the rear wing after teams started to make very low engine covers. While teams often have engine covers taller than needed, they are keen to slim the cover to improve flow the rear wing.
The sidepods themselves are more rounded and slimmer in the narrow coke bottle section, and the deck is lower. This makes the exhausts protrude more through the sidepods, although it seem the exhaust is also slightly longer.
Under the skin, the Ferrari sports a development of the seven-speed seamless gearbox. Redesigned to last four races, the gearbox has also has had attention paid to its internals and its hydraulics to improve reliability in the light of some failures last year.
That said, the team do not feel the single ECU will hamper the unit in terms of the speed of its shift. Tombazis confirmed the gear case was "similar to last years", and it continues to follows a hybrid construction, using a titanium skeleton with carbon fibre skins bonded to its ribs.
Also the single ECU provides Ferrari with a number of challenges. The software is all new and the team have had to learn the MES [McLaren Electronics Systems] application to write the new control code.
Also, the specific ban on traction control and other automated drivers aids means the team have had to find new ways to maximise the car's pace. No longer able to alter the differential for each corner or have the throttle prevent the rear wheels locking, it will be down to the driver and the car's set up to recover the consistency and stability previously provided by the electronics.
Perhaps related to the lack of programmable chassis controls, the cockpit features a new lever. Positioned between the brake bias lever and dash bulkhead, the three position lever seems to be without a purpose.
The lever appears similar to a anti-roll bar adjuster (which were banned in 1994), and I asked Tombazis what its purpose was. Of course he wouldn't say, but the driver interviews alluded to some surprises, and potentially the lever may replace a programmable aid with a driver adjustable system, in a similar way to how the quick shift brake bias adjuster overcomes the ban on automated brake bias systems.
The engine was not an area Ferrari were able to develop to the same extent as usual due to the engine freeze rules. All that can be altered are the airbox/injection system, exhausts and electronics.
Plus, the work to develop the tuning to meet the new fuel demand for a 75 percent bio content meant that the gains possible are limited. Tractability has been the main aim, as more revs or internal changes to engine are not allowed. [/B]

The 2007 McLaren MP4-22 was nearly flawless, but have the men from Woking managed to maintain their technical advantage going into 2008? Craig Scarborough inspects the new MP4-23

If their season off the track in 2007 was tumultuous, the car was nearly flawless on the track.
McLaren bounced back from their dreadful, winless 2006 season with a car that was both on the pace and reliable. Only the inability to beat Ferrari through high-speed turns let the car down in a tightly-contested season.
Heading into 2008 with the spy case now behind them, the team have been able to make another big step with the car, which foregoes many typical McLaren characteristics. Autosport.com spoke to Engineering Director Paddy Lowe about the car and its development.
The 2007 MP4-22 was the end of a generation of McLarens dating back to 2002. It exhibited an attention to detail in its packaging and aerodynamics that lifted it above its peers. Under the skin, the engine and gearbox gremlins were put to rest.
With such a huge leap taken over the winter after the 2006 season, could the team make a similar step 12 months later?
"Its difficult to say," Lowe remarked. "In 2006 we didn't have the best of years, so its much easier when you've not had benchmark performance to look hard at where you've been going wrong and close that gap".
Equally, pinpointing the advantage to Ferrari has been difficult, as Lowe explained.

"It's been up and down through 2007 relative to Ferrari. They were quicker than us in Brazil, which was typical of the season, really. We broadly were in the right domain by the end of the year".
On the surface, the Ferrari F2007 appeared to be faster at tracks which had predominantly fast corners. Lowe admitted that this in part was true, but also argued that the situation was more complex than that.
"I think that can be over-simplified [that] there was definitely a trend," he said. "If we were honest, neither we nor Ferrari would fully understand that.
"It's difficult to isolate the track from the tyre choice. I think some of the tyre choices combined with the circuit would suit theirs or suit ours. That's something we worked very hard to try understand, and I wouldn't begin to say that we've fully understood it".
With the understanding they did have of the car's deficiencies, Lowe explained the team's aim for 2008.
"This winter's been more about consolidating," he said. "We don't want to throw away anything. We don't want to take too much risk from where we are, but we want to build on areas we are confident will give us definite performance".
Some details of the new car were publicised through the WMSC evidence from the spy case. Moving weight forwards has been an obvious intention; this has been an effect of the single tyre supply from 2007 - the weaker rear tyre construction led teams to take load off the rear tyre.
Most teams were able to move a lot of weight forward in 2007, but with the chance to alter the layout of their cars over the winter, McLaren have greater scope to package the car around a front-biased set-up.
According to Lowe, the extra length came from the gearbox. By adding a section between the gears and the differential, weight is moved forwards.
The aim of moving weight forwards might have been compromised by the ban on traction control, where more weight towards the rear tyre might help traction. But Lowe suggests this wasn't necessary.
"We and the other teams will have been studying in the pre-Christmas test," he said. "It's not something that we've found to make a dramatic difference".
On the point of the single ECU, Lowe doubted the significance of the ban on driver aids.
"I think the loss of these toys can be overplayed sometimes, but it will demand more skill from the driver," he said. "If you remember when we've gone in and out of traction control over the years, I don't remember it being visibly that different".

He also suggested that the notion of drivers sliding the cars is not going to be a treat for the fans.
"It does put more onus on the driver to be more careful with the throttle, but then they're good at what they do," he said. "The net effect is that the cars don't slide, as the driver does what the computer would have done - you don't want slide".
When the tender for the single ECU supply was announced as a joint venture between McLaren electronics and Microsoft, the presence of the McLaren name in the title did not initially concern the other teams or media.
But events during last season changed that perspective and McLaren are now believed by some to have gained an advantage in having been running the McLaren Electronics ECU for years. Lowe is quick to point out the difference between the racing team and McLaren Electronics.
"MES [McLaren Electronics Systems] is a separate company," he said. "They've been very strict at honouring the contractual requirements. There was a complete separation between them and us; there came point where we severed links in software development".
Thus, the software is not common between the 2007 McLaren ECU and the new control version.
"They own and develop that code and it's the same for everyone, everyone can see it," Lowe reiterated. "It's not a black box code, every team gets to see the code so they can see how it works. It's open source".
Having said that, Lowe was open to admit there's been some commonality in specific areas.
"We have had an advantage," he admitted. "To say otherwise would be dishonest. The advantage is mainly that we haven't had to change the electronics hardware - which is always a big project, to change your ECU.
"To change the harness concept is a big technical challenge, and it takes a lot of preparation and testing. We have been spared that. It is almost as though we have had carry over on electronics hardware".
Yet McLaren have still had to write the control strategies for the SECU and to meet the new rules banning automated chassis control systems, like traction, slide, launch control and stability programmes preventing rear wheel locking under braking.
This has been the major task in adopting the SECU. The outgoing ECUs allowed an amazing level of control, as Lowe explained.
"All sorts of things that used to be selectable to any input you like," he said.

"Circuit position was the big one. The biggest loss was to be to able tune the car to the metre around the circuit - things like the differential control, which you could tune all the way through the corner if you wanted, also the traction control and the slip on entry with the engine braking. Now you are left with one map, although you can pick different maps".
Thus, this year the driver will start each lap with one map for each allowable function. Each map can only be altered by the driver via the switches on the steering wheel - they cannot be pre-programmed.
This level of complexity makes setting up the car simpler due to the lack of option, but also more difficult as a compromise needs to be sought to make a set-up suit more corners.
"A lot of time was spent last year tuning the car," Lowe said. "In effect, you could dial out local problems. In a sense that's what set-up work is anyway. You've got less knobs to turn now".
The new McLaren
As with any new Formula One car, the first glance suggests little has changed. In many respects, the MP4-23 is no different.
But McLaren have built up a dictionary of design ideas and shapes, which have evolved over the years. This year's car eschews many of those concepts and as a result looks less like a McLaren, aside from the familiar colour scheme.
Starting at the nose, the trademark low nose has been dropped for a wedgier conventional nose. How McLaren choose to mount a bridge wing with the higher nose will be a challenge.
The forward pair of bargeboards are also new, no longer being formed as an L-shaped extension from the keel area of the monocoque. Instead, a smaller board hangs from a simple strut. This set-up makes for a much cleaner flow under the nose.
Likewise, the main bargeboards have been revised, with the extra vanes added to the trailing edges now moulded into a more homogeneous design.
This integrated philosophy continues with the pod wings, which are usually mounted to the top shoulder of the sidepod. This year's McLaren has split the wing, with the lower pod wing being integrated into the sidepod inlet, creating a neat set-up that confuses the eye.
Inside the pods the radiators continue to be sloped forwards and vent through chimneys joined to the upper pod wing. The rest of the sidepods are slight more waisted, and the exhausts slightly closer to the centre line of the car. But big gains in this area are limited by the packaging of the radiators and exhausts.
More significant is the way McLaren have slimmed the upper engine cover to improve flow to the rear wing. This starts with an innovative roll hoop. The snorkel that the hoop forms has been undercut to create along protruding snout - there is barely any structure forward of the rear bulkhead.
However the strength of the structure is now aided by two coved supports and two slimmer struts. The latter are used to act as the lifting eye should the car need to be lifted on a crane from a dangerous position.
With a smaller structure to cope wit the impact tests, I asked Lowe if the set-up was heavier.
"Its very similar actually," he said. "It's an aerodynamic benefit we've gone after there; its quite novel".
This streamlined roll hoop then leads back to a slimmer airbox cover. With a cleaner approach the rear wing is free to do more work, and the struts to support it are slightly revised from the versions raced late last year.
The rear wing itself and diffuser on the launch car were 2007 items, and are due to be replaced before Melbourne.
Not present on the launch car but seen in testing were new hubs and uprights to mount the static wheel fairings raced by Ferrari last year. Lowe explained their absence:
"At this stage we're just testing it. It's certainly something we working with, it comes with some penalties; you've got to be careful you end up with a net positive by the time you get involved with the mechanism to stop it turning and get the wheel nut on. It's a bit of a head-scratcher".
As has been noted the gearbox is longer for this year, but the case design and the gears within it are evolved from the 2007 set-up. The quick-shift gear cluster that has been raced since 2005 now needs to last four races. Lowe is wary of being over-confident that the task has been achieved.
"It requires a lot of focus to be confident that it will run for four races," he said. "We will have to see. I think its going to a challenge for everybody, and we're giving it out best effort".
But with the unit having been raced for so long and having been so reliable throughout 2007, I wondered where the issues would come from.
"As with all these things, you've got to push the envelope," Lowe said. "If it's working, then somebody wants to take some weight out of it and then it doesn't work until we sort it out".
Aiding McLaren's quest for reliability is their carbon gear case, which tends to be ore durable than the metal casing.
"A carbon case is a lot more expensive as a component, but you don't need to make so many," Lowe said. "They do last some time compared to the old magnesium ones, which eventually would crack quite after a short while".
One oddity of the McLaren gearbox is where the starter is attached. Every other team insert the starter into a continuation of the input shaft in the gearbox. This shaft connects through the clutch to the engine, thus when the starter spin the engine turns over.
But McLaren starter shaft is offset to the right. Was this a sign that the McLaren gearbox has a different layout of shafts internally? According to Lowe, the shaft layout is conventional, but the starter shaft is separate and drives the engine via spur gear.
"It saves you getting involved in going straight the middle through the diffuser." [/B]

Jan.14 (GMM) F1's most competitive teams will be "amazed" when they clap eyes on the new BMW-Sauber F1.08, team driver Nick Heidfeld claims.

The 30-year-old German was a top performer of last season, taking the 2008 car's predecessor to fifth place in the drivers' championship; behind only the four Ferrari and McLaren runners.



Heidfeld and Polish teammate Robert Kubica's new car will be unveiled in Munich on Monday, and Heidfeld suggests that team chiefs' winter proclamations that a race win is the target for 2008 is not empty rhetoric.



Asked by Bild newspaper about the F1.08, he answered: "It looks quite different from our last car, because the 2007 one was very simple.



"This time, there are many more details. Our opponents at Mercedes and Ferrari will be amazed when they see it," Heidfeld added.



He also said he is not intimidated about the prospect of joining F1's top quartet - Raikkonen, Alonso, Massa and Hamilton - in the battle for wins in 2008.



"I know that in the past I have beaten every one of them," Heidfeld answered.

Se vé clasicote... pero un morro muy trabajado, mmm por otro lado los colores de BMW combinan perfectos y el monoplaza se veo "maco maco"

Hay que estos de BMW se ganan una denuncia por parte de Ferrari parece que este año van a ser unos cuantos los que obten por los tapacubos.

Por cierto... que seguramente ya se comentó porque estamos en todas.

¿alguien puede explicar que aparente utilidad tienen esos tapacubos?...

Refrigueran mejor los frenos?... o canalizan mejor el aire hacia estos?...

Os recomiendo el video de presentación de BMW, es genial. Dura casi 30 minutos!

Por cierto YOSSI, muchísimas gracias por tanta información tan rápidamente, ERES UN CRACK!. Imagino que pondrás fotos en alta resolución del BMW. Me interesa mucho tenerlas, para mi es fuente de inspiración a la hora de hacer mis diseñitos, jeje.

Yo también PHILIP. Pensaba que, al menos, quitarían los "cuernos". Pedro comentó que en el McLaren eran una solución temporal, no sé si para BMW siguen siendo trascendentes o los mantendrán hasta que hagan las nuevas especificaciones aerodinámicas.
Coincido plenamente con KIT, el morro es increínle, lleno de quillas por todas partes

Me ha impresionado mucho el alerón delantero se nota que se lo han currado y la parte trasera no se ve demasiado bien pero he visto alguna novedad. Hay un alerón nuevo ( difusor ?? ).
Está claro la dirección de BMW este año quiere igualar el Chasis y la Aerodinámica al peaso de "pepino" motor BMW que el año pasado era en ciertos momentos el mas potente de la parrilla.

En este monoplaza ya no queda nada de la ingeniería de Sauber.

Cuidadito este año con BMW, más de uno nos vamos a llevar una sorpresa. Si Ferrari sigue en su línea, McLata no pierde demasiado y Rinol se pone las pilas, nos vamos a divertir todavía mas que el año pasado.

Me comprometí a afeitarme la cabeza al 1 si el Nano era campeón en la última carrera del año y durante 30 minutos de la última carrera casi lo tuve afeitado gracias a "san ganchao" y la corte celestial.

Se me antoja irrepetible una temporada tan emocionante como la del año pasado pero si esto está igualado entre 4 escuderías va a ser la pera.

Creo que el unico equipo que va acambiar radicalmente de coche será precisamente Renault. A ver si es para bien.

BMW desde luego tiene una pinta totalmente distinta en estas últimas fotos se puede ver totalmente. Además vemos que han aumentado la batalla del coche.
Recuerdo que el año pasado se metían algunos ingenieros de escuderías rivales con Ferrari por que tenía una batalla exagerada y mira a final de temporada echadle un galgo al ferrari.

Aparentemente el juicio público entre Ferrari y McLata ha desvelado "ideas" al resto de escuderías sobre como afrontar los Bridgestone. Quitando peso atrás, alargando la batalla y equilibrando el coche.
Precisamente el rinol históricamente ha sido un monoplaza de filosofía "todo atras" . A ver como sale BMW y Rinol.

La verdad es que si que ha sido una presentacion cutre, cutre. Una presentacion en la puerta del garaje!!!

Espero que todo lo que se han ahorrado en la presentación lo hayan gastado en el coche, porque si el "recorte de gastos" es general, me parece que este año Red Bull sera el farolillo.

En esta página de la Gazzetta http://www.gazzetta.it/Motori/Formula1/Primo_Piano/2008/01_Gennaio/14/test.shtml se pueden ver y comparar los volantes de ferrari de 2007 y del 2008 (se accede a las imágenes en la ventana notizie correlate, siento no saber pegarlas aquí, a ver si las pudiérais bajar alguno). Me llama la atención que el nuevo volante no lleve el escudo ferrari, aunque a lo mejor se trata de un olvido del dibujante.

Scuderiavichina, no puedo ver la imagen que has colgado, pero en la ventana Notizie correlate de la página de la Gazetta hay varios apartados. Uno dice: VOLANTE: COM'ERA NEL 2007 y aparece el volante explicado. El siguiente dice: COM'E' NEL 2008 y aparece el nuevo volante explicado (entre las novedades un mando para regular lo que yo interpreto como el "tacto" del pedal del acelerador).

Edito: ya veo el volante del 2007, pero no el del 2008

Me gusta más el nuevo volante por su sencillez, aunque con los cambios por la nueva reglamentación seguramente esto ocurrirá con los volantes de los demás coches.

Una broma: ojo al botón 28 del volante de 2007 (botón 18 del de 2008). Ese es el que apretó Kimi en Brasil para ponerse primero.

Edito: Gaizka, por si te sirve de ayuda en la ruleta de la izquierda yo creo leer "REVS" y en la de la derecha "ENTRY".

BUENO.. estéticamente no era muy difícil mejorarlo (en cuanto a colores) el listón estaba por el suelo.

En cuanto al diseño del monoplaza lo veo calcadito al del pasado año... y añadiré que los pontones o soy yo o me parecen bastante más pequeños de lo normal.

Esperemos que el error del pasado añao fuera muy grande y nada tenga que ver con el diseño....

Por cierto que veo carga sobre el morro "normal" el bijote tampoco está trabajado y parece que todos los equipos en han optado por cargar bien el morro dandole mucha ala mucha carga en la parte frontal. El honda es más parecido a los monoplazas de antaño.

Opino como KIT, la aerodinámica, en comparación con el resto de monoplazas parece de hace 4 años. Está muy poco evolucionada. Sólo tenéis que fijaros en la geometría del morro y compararlo con el ferrari. Están a miles de años luz.
Los pontones son así todos, muy pequeños y estrechos. Por lo que se refiere a colores... la verdad es que no mata. El B·A·R era mucho más bonito y mira que era sencillo...

Ahora parece ser que para que un coche este bien diseñado, tiene que tener curvas, y eso demuestra que esta trabajado. Yo siempre tuve entendido que la linea recta es el lugar mas corto para ir de un sitio a otro, asi que tan mala no sera. Tambien puede ser dificil, pero viable, hacer un coche rapido a base de rectas. NO me parece en este caso el Honda un coche feo, sino sobrio.

Visto frontalmente, los seguidores del Betis estaran muy contentos.

Sinceramente, se me hace raro verlo asi pintado. A lo mejor, al verlo en movimietno cambia completamente.

Probablemente, han utilizado parte del presupuesto de Super Aguri para "decorarlo" asi.

La línea recta sí es el trazado más corto entre dos puntos, pero en aerodinámica y cálculo de fluidos las rectas generan turbulencias y eso no es nada bueno. Sólo tienes que fijarte que, desde que todo el mundo tiene túnel del viento (incluso 2) los coches han evolucionado aerodinámicamente de una forma espectacular, siempre buscando la fluidez perfecta del aire dando lugar a geometría cada vez más redondeadas y complejas. No creo que Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, BMW, Williams, etc estén en un error.

Pues sí RAFA. La verdad es que a mi, personalmente, me gusta Honda como equipo. Y nada me gustaría más que verlos luchando por victorias. Me gustaba mucho el BAR y Button hizo muy buenas carreras con él. Fue a partir de la trampa que hicieron con el doble depósito cuando dieron un bajón cada vez más acusado, hasta donde están hoy, tocando fondo. En los últimos entrenos fueron peores que los ForceIndia, y eso duele.

Honda, metiéndose en la F1, intenta ganarle terreno a Toyota en ventas de automóviles pero la estrategia les está saliendo rana, y cara.

Encima parece que este año el Toyota está funcionando bien o, al menos, bastante mejor que el año pasado y el anterior.

Espero que Honda recupere la competitividad pronto y sin duda fichar a Ross ha sido una buena forma de empezar. A ver qué pasa...

The official launch of the R28

2008-01-29 16:21:00 / RF1-Paddock-Pass



The ING Renault F1 Team is in the process of completing its final preparations for the launch of the R28 in Paris on Thursday. All the hard work has been building up to this moment, and there's just time to make the final touches before the big day.

The presentation of a new car is always a special occasion and it's a tradition that Renault is proud to continue. The journalists of the world are set to attend, and will be treated to a special ceremony as they get their first up-close peek at the beautiful R28. This year we are preparing to welcome almost 600 people, and believe me, the team will need to operate with military-style precision to make sure things go off without a hitch. Managing so many people who all want the same thing can be a delicate juggling act. But we've been here plenty of times before and the day is always a success.

The launch ceremony will get underway at 1400 on Thursday, but before that there's an enormous amount to do. Firstly, let's consider Wednesday, that's when the team's sponsors will get a sneak-preview of the R28 at a special cocktail party and dinner. It's the perfect opportunity for the team's partners to meet the team and drivers in a more relaxed environment. By Thursday, the drivers will be in massive demand with the world's media hungry to get their stories.

For Thursday we have set aside the morning for completing some interviews with members of the team, as well as a quick rehearsal, before a quick bite to eat at lunch. Then, it will be time to welcome the press - all 600 of them!

So, at 1400 sharp we will begin to unveil the R28 and affirm the team's objectives for the new season. Then there's the photo shoot with the drivers and the car - the first time the press will have been able to have a proper inspection of the R28. Next up will be the interviews, in various languages, which will last for around 2 hours! And the language skills of the drivers always make you marvel - Fernando will give interviews in Spanish (of course), English, Italian and French (so long as you don't talk to fast!). Similarly, Nelson is just as impressive, with impeccable English, Portuguese, and French. He's even pretty handy with Spanish.

The day will come to a close at around 1700, and then it's time for the press to leave and the drivers and team to head straight to Barcelona. Yes, the team will be pounding around the track on Friday, continuing with the next winter test session which will last until Sunday. This will be the first time that the team has run two R28s together at a test, so both drivers will enjoy full programmes.

As you will appreciate it's a busy week for the team, and a very important week. It's the time to celebrate the beginning of the team's 2008 adventure.

En cuanto al nuevo Honda, me parece feo, y desde luego opino que es absolutamente imposible saber si va a ser eficiente aerodinámicamente o no sobre la base de su aspecto. De ser así, ¿para qué tener túneles de viento, ingenieros, simulaciones informáticas, test...?

Por otra parte, creo que los pocos test que está llevando a cabo Renault ofrecen la posibilidad de que el coche aun mejore mucho, todavía se podrán hacer muchas más cosas, por lo que espero que con más kms encima el R28 sea más competitivo.

Yo comenté lo del morro... pero obvio solo quería decir que aparentemente parece alejarse de la linea del diseño de los monoplazas de este año donde veo mucha carga frontal.

Su eficacia solo la plasmaran en la pista y es cierto que a veces una revolución o una excesiva evolución significó un "FRACASO" el R3 y Jaguar son casi un buen ejemplo en todo lo que no se debe hacer. porque quien recuerde el R1 o el R2 parecian un STEWART (antiguos jaguar) pintados de verde y prácticamente a excepcción del R4 fueron los mejores Jaguar de la corta historia de los "gatos saltarines"

Obviamente no disponemos de los datos suficientes y tambien añadir que a veces el diseño aerodinámico no es malo y en cambio fallan suspensiones, frenos, repartición de pesos chasis, difusores, fondos, electrónica... así que el tunel de viento "DA DATOS" ... pero no solo con eso se fabrica un buen monoplaza.

Que más quisiera yo que hubiese otro arriba DANDO GUERRA... ojalá incluso Bourdais, Vettel, Coulthard y Sato tuvieran posibilidades de luchar por un podio!!!

supongo que la decoración del honda es fruto de un concurso escolar, en el cual los niños presentaron mil y una combinaciones de color más bonitas que esta, que será la del consejo de administración de honda, que desechó la de los niños por demasiado arriesgada.

no dice nada, la verdad, demasiado corriente. pese a todo, más bonita que la de renault si que es, y eso duele....

salvo que mañana presenten algo con menos colores. por favor, fuera el azul oscuro y el amarillo de renault.!!

Bueno, pues la apuesta de Alonso es por ser 5º este año...
Esperemos que el R28 llegue a ser suficientemente competitivo como para que de espectáculo y pueda robar puntos de vez en cuando a los 4 primeros...

Según se ha visto en T5, parce que a Alonso le gustan los colores del coche tanto como a mí.

Uf, tendría que superar en puntos a dos pilotos entre Kimi, Massa, Lewis y Kovalainen con un coche en principio inferior. Lo veo muy difícil a priori, aunque no sabemos cómo van a estar en la parrilla de Australia.

De todos modos, el propio Fernando, en unas declaraciones recogidas en el mundo, dice que todavía están lejos de Ferrari y McLaren, y que si no puntua en Australia va a ser malo. Es decir, contempla la posibilidad de no puntuar, algo que a mi ni se me había pasado por la cabeza.

O es un interesado pesimismo para apretar al equipo e ir de tapado, o es que el R28 ya se huele que no es lo que se vendió.

Sólo queda esperar.

YOSSI, 500 millones de GRACIAS por las fotos del R28! Aunque los colores no me gusten mucho, el coche es una pasada. ¿Qué os parece?

Por cierto, la web de Renault va fatal, no funcionan la mitad de las cosas y en el apartado de pilotos han puesto el nombre de Nelsinho y Fernando cambiados... que fuerte.
Como vea esa cagada el tito Briatore se va a liar a dar collejas a dos manos al webmaster.

En principio en Australia tendremos a los dos Mclaren y a los dos Ferrari por delante en la pomada. Luego habrá una lucha entre Renault, Williams y BMW. Si alguno de los de arriba se descuelga entonces habrá algo para los demás. Pero en principio ya se ha afirmado que el McLata de este año es más estable y más potente que el del año pasado. Cuidado con Kova que puede ser el tapado de este año, sin control de tracción kova es más fino y tiende a blocar menos que Hamilton. Si el equipo no le putea va a ser una lucha bonita. Y en Ferrari vamos a tener más de lo mismo Massa intentando hacer pole el primer GP para reivindicarse y que Kimi no le "pase por encima".

Luego a lo largo del año veremos al menos dos evoluciones del R-28 la primera evolución será un hibrido del R-28 puro de Renault con el nuevo reparto de pesos que está aconsejando FA. Y la segunda evolución será un coche puro FA. Es decir, no se podrá luchar por podios hasta la mitad de la temporada. A no ser que FA nos sorprenda como siempre, o que llueva.

no se porque pero a mi los monos de los pilotos me recuerdan a los de la Nascar/IRL y todo el mundillo ese americano jajaj
