El problema es que a Carlos Slim padre, quien es en definitiva el que tiene el grueso del dinero, no le gustan los coches, y es su hijo el que está detrás de Sergio Pérez y Gutierrez. Además ya sabes que estos ricos lo son, pero luego no llevan nada suelo encima, siempre les "falta cash" como diría aquella.

Sauber-Ferrari (9) - El viaje a Singapur no ha merecido la pena, y el secreo estuvo en el ganador del despedido Pedro de la Rosa (ahora probador de Pirelli). Su sucesor, Heidfeld, fue demasiado lento, y su carrera, como la de Kobayashi, fue estropeada por Shucmacher-Mercedes. Descuido en los pits (neumáticos mal, Heidfeld fue enviado antes de tiempo) y CHF 400 000 a la basura.

Preview Japanese Grand Prix

Hinwil, 1st October 2010 The team is excited about going to Suzuka for the Japanese Grand Prix on October 10th. Kamui Kobayashi is looking forward to his home race and Nick Heidfeld is happy to be racing on his favourite circuit again.

Kamui Kobayashi:
I am Japanese and therefore the Suzuka round is my home race, although I have not spent too much time in Japan over the last seven years. I was 17-years-old the last time I raced in Japan. Of course I know the circuit quite well after having driven there last year for Toyota in free practice before the Grand Prix. I find the circuit very nice, and I really like every inch of it. It is a challenging track over the entire lap. I think our car will be good in Suzuka. It is very exciting for me to be going there, and I know there will be a lot of supporters. There is a special area for my fans, and the 2000 tickets were sold out quickly. I left for Japan straight after the race in Singapore. Beside the race preparation, the food and the Japanese Spa treatments are something to look forward to.

Nick Heidfeld:
I am really looking forward to the race in Suzuka. It is my favourite of all Formula One circuits and, on what will be my second race weekend with the team, of course I will know a lot more about the car, which should help. On top of that I just love going to Japan. This time I will not be visiting Tokyo, but even Suzuka, where actually there is not much going on, is still the Japan I enjoy. I like the food, the culture and the excitement of the fans. They enjoy the Japanese Grand Prix so much, and this is very nice to see. The Suzuka lap has a very nice flow and a great variety of characteristics. The Esses in the first sector are especially beautiful. If you get these S corners right it is incredible fun.

Technical Director James Key:
Its great to go to Suzuka, which is Kamuis home race. Its a personal favourite of mine as well. I have some fond memories from past events, and the atmosphere there is excellent. Im sure Kamui will have a lot of support from his fans. As far as the track is concerned, its a favourite with the drivers and teams. Its one of those high speed circuits with a lot of high speed corners and sharp changes of direction. Its quite technical, and its a good challenge for the drivers and the engineers to set up the car. Im hoping its a circuit which suits our car better than recent ones, but you never know until you get there. Hopefully it will be a little easier to find a good balance on Friday. As far as the car is concerned, we are taking the updates weve had in Singapore. We will do further work on them to try and get more out of them in Suzuka, which is a slightly more normal circuit than Singapore. Also we will have a few additional new items which we will test on Friday.

Lo siento no veo donde habla bien Benoit de Pedro. Creo que más bien describe una situación, y culpa del peor resultado a Heidfeld, que fue quien subió al coche por el despedido Pedro, del que dice que ahora prueba para Pirelli. No veo claro el halago hacia Pedro.

BITTER yo lo que entiendo que pone (puedo estar equivocado), es que el secreto del mal fin de semana de Sauber estuvo en el "ganador" del puesto de Pedro, Nick Heidfeld, que fue muy lento. No veo ninguna referencia positiva a Pedro. No tiene mayor importancia, pero vamos, que en esas tres líneas sólo se menciona a Pedro para decir que fue sustituido por Heidfeld, y que ahora es probador de Pirelli. Nada más.

Necesitamos aceptar la situación y olvidarnos ya de Sauber. Por mi dejaría este Post en el olvido. Espero que Kamui se vaya a otro equipo (lo merece) y Peter Sauber pierda la escudería. Si eso ocurre, me alegraré. Pero en lo que creo que debemos centrarnos es en el futuro de Pedro. Si hicimos una gran movilización por su fichaje con Sauber, ahora nos toca "pelear" por el retorno de Pedro con los medios que dispongamos. Y si hay que regalar otra vez puros, se regalan! Yo no me rindo.
Creo que es más positivo (y sano mentalmente hablando) pasar página y no seguir urgando en la herida.

Bueno, si va a ser un title sponsor yo lo veo lógico. La cosa está muy mal para todos, es lo que hay.

De todos modos, haber tratado con cortesía a Emilio Botín, le hubiese venido muy bien al electricista y era mucho más fácil que irse de boda, lo tenía a huevo. Ahora mismo Botín es un tío con peso en la F1, yo no le negaría ni el saludo ni unas cervecitas si tuviese un equipo, que nunca se sabe.

Si yo fuera Slim y fuera a adquirir Sauber (y a diferencia de lo que alguno ha escrito en alguna ocasión, diciendo que Pedro es un buen nexo para Telmex por ser español), lo primero que haría sería obligar a bajar a Pedro del asiento. Telmex y Telefónica son competidores acérrimos en Sudamérica, con mucho fondo de poder de por medio.

Sauber Motorsport sign Sergio Perez as race driver and announce partnership with Telmex

Hinwil, 4th October 2010. Sauber Motorsport have signed a contract with Sergio Perez. The 20-year old Mexican driver will line up alongside Kamui Kobayashi for Peter Saubers team in the 2011 Formula One World Championship.

Sergio Perez has been a member of Escuderia Telmex, which supports racing drivers in various categories, for a number of years. He finished second in this years GP2 Series, winning four races including the prestigious championship round in Monaco in the process. Sergio began his career in Karting, where he won a total of five championships. He followed that up with two years in Formula BMW before moving on to the National Class of the British F3 International Series, where he won a still record 14 races. In 2008 he finished fourth in the International Class of the British F3 International Series. In GP2 Asia he became the series youngest race winner at the age of 18.

Sergio Perez: Formula One is the dream of every young racing driver. And now this dream is about to come true for me. Although Im very much aware that this is also a big challenge and responsibility, Im happy to accept that and am proud to be representing my country in the highest category of motor racing. I would like to thank Peter Sauber for the faith hes shown in me and Ill do everything I can to make the most of this wonderful opportunity.

Peter Sauber: Sergio has been on a continuous upward curve over the past few years.
