Alguien sabe que pasa con Legge, ¿como esta? Para el que no lo sepa, ha sufrido un fortísimo accidente, de los más terribles que he visto hace mucho tiempo, estoy buscando por todos los sitios pero de momento no dicen nada. Espero que solo sea un susto.

Edito: Ufff menos mal, por lo visto pudo salir por su propio pie sin ningún tipo de problemas. Que susto me lleve al ver las imágenes, me alegro que este bien

Katherine Legge tonight admitted that she was lucky to be alive - but was also cursing her luck at missing out on a top six result at the Grand Prix of Road America.

The Briton stepped away from a huge accident at the Turn 11 kink, which can be taken in seventh gear at 165mph, after an element of her rear wing flew off.

Her PKV Racing Lola was launched into a series of somersaults along the catch fencing, breaking into pieces as it went, when finally the tub landed upside down.

"It's so bad that the accident happened while I was in my best race of the year," she told autosport.com.

"We were definitely going to finish sixth, despite having lost a load of time earlier in the race being hit by people and then getting caught behind slower cars.

"I knew something was wrong in a split second after the rear wing broke, because I lost about a thousand pounds of downforce, so suddenly I was speeding up as I turned into the kink, and the rear end just came round and I was a passenger.

"I must have stayed conscious through most of it, because as I was going along the fence I remember thinking 'this isn't good'.

"My visor flipped open a bit, so there was mud and stuff coming through, but I could see that the engine had broken away.

"That was a real relief, because when you're trapped upside down, the last thing you want is fire. That would be scary.

"But, you know, the tub was fine and it just goes to show how strong these Lolas are. The only thing that hurts is my knee.

"But, like I say, I'm really bummed because we had been going so well. But when I saw the replay in the medical centre, I could see I was pretty lucky.

"I felt sorry for my dad, because at least I knew what was happening and how I was, because I could feel all my fingers and legs and toes while I was upside down. But until he saw me in the medical centre he could only worry."

Legge said that she expects to be fine for Champ Car's next race, the penultimate round at Surfers Paradise in Australia.

"Oh yeah, that's not a problem. And that's because Champ Cars are so strong, and the safety team are awesome. Everyone's been wonderful to me."

Pues si, otro año sin carrera en el viejo continente y otro año sin Laguna seca Por cierto, el próximo año no se disputa ninguna carrera en circuitos ovales. Espero que el próximo año haya más participantes que este, porque este ha ido bastante flojilla la cosa. Afortunadamente, siguen apostando por circuitos urbanos, entre ellos el de Phoenix

Y este fin de semana penultima carrera de la Cart 2006, en el siempre espectacular circuito de Surfers Paradise. Ojala, que la realización vuelva a estar entonada, porque en las últimas carreras ha bajado mucho de nivel.

Hola, tengo una duda sobre las dos competiciones americanas Champ Cart e IRL.
El coche del que habeis puesto las fotos (Panoz), para que categoria va a ser? Van a unificarse las dos categorias?
Por cierto que he leido por ahi que P.Stoddart esta pensando junto H.Muermans crear un equipo para la Champ en el 2007. Ya han tenido reuniones con el gerente de la categoria y entre los pilotos potenciales para ese equipo estarian R.Doornbos y Z.Baumgartner.

El coche será para la CART (o Champ Car). De momento las dos categorías siguen por separado, a finales de año ya se verá si al final convergen.

Pues Allmendiger se fue a la nascar, el mismo camino que montoya.
Y tracy jeje tuvo un accidente con un cochecito de golf y creo que tuvo una fractura por eso causa baja.

No sé que le ven a eso de la NASCAR. Con las maneras que apuntaba este chico habría podido intentar algo en la F-1.
