Sobre lo de las fotos, supongo que por motivos contractuales no se pueden poner fotos de Pedro con algo que tenga que ver con McLaren. (Igual ahora si pasa a correr los Viernes el tema cambia).

Y sobre noticias, esta es la página oficial de PDLR así que hasta que algo no sea oficial, valga la redundancia, no pueden decir nada. (Para cosas no oficiales hay otras cosas).

PD. En la sección de fotos hay una muy chula de Pedro cortando una tarta en Australia creo del año 99.

Bueno, pero como también estamos celebrando que Pedro correrá los viernes "ese error" al responder al topic me alegra, pues me permite pasar un segundo a comentar por aquí que la dipositiva que me gusta mucho de Pedro es una en la que está vestido "de calle", sentado y con una enorme botella de Möet indicando con el pulgar de la mano: "Ánimo! triunfo conseguido! Pa´arriba!!"

Spaniard claims he'll drive at the start of the season. By Pablo Elizalde

Spanish driver Pedro de la Rosa has claimed he will drive the third McLaren on Friday at the season opening Australian Grand Prix next month.

De la Rosa also said his team has confirmed he will drive the third car both in Malaysia and Bahrain, the second and third rounds of the 2005 Championship. The season starts in Melbourne on 6 March.

"It's true that I've been guaranteed the seat for Australia, Malaysia and Bahrain," de la Rosa told Spanish daily As. "For the next races they will decide if it's Wurz or me. But at the moment I'm only thinking about those three races."

Under current regulations, the bottom six teams from the previous year are allowed to run a third car on Friday prior to each Grand Prix weekend. McLaren finished last year in fifth position in the Constructors' Championship, which means they will be allowed to run another car next

The team have de la Rosa and Alexander Wurz as test drivers, although the Austrian has had problems fitting inside the new MP4-20 and is yet to test the car. Wurz measures 1.82 meters and has had difficulties fitting into previous cars. De la Rosa is considerably shorter.

The 33-year old Catalan has been a McLaren tester since the 2003 season. He had previously raced for the Arrows and Jaguar teams, scoring six points in total.

Now the Spaniard is hoping the chance to test during Grand Prix weekends will help him towards a return to racing in 2006.

"That's my goal," de la Rosa said. "I don't know if I'll achieve it, but I'll try with all strength, as I usually do. I'm aware this is one of the final chances that I'll have to try to get back to racing, and I'm going to seize it."

El 15 de diciembre de 2004 apareció en autosport.com la noticia que ahora os copio. Yo la tenía guardada porque aquel día sí que creo que volé de verdad tomándomela al pie de la letra. Bien, pues hoy "tenemos la 2ª parte" que también se ha posteado aquí .

McLaren looks almost certain to capitalise on its disappointing fifth-placed finish in this year's constructors' world championship by taking up the option it has to run a third car during the Friday of grand prix weekends during 2005.

Formula 1's sporting regulations allow the bottom six teams to run the extra car during the two one-hour practice sessions on Fridays and McLaren's slump down the order has opened up the possibility of it joining the sport's smaller teams in getting extra mileage.

Although the third car rule was originally intended as a way of helping just the smaller outfits, McLaren's shock loss in form last year, allied to BAR's dramatic increase in speed, has opened up the strange scenario.

And despite the fact that there had been some suggestions that the rules to allow third car running would get changed because of the McLaren situation, no vote has been taken on the matter and it is now certain McLaren will take up the option.

The identity of a third driver has not been confirmed but with test driver Alexander Wurz too tall to fit into the current version of the MP4-20, it is likely the team will pick Pedro de la Rosa.

En todos los medios respetables se hacen eco de la entrevista en As y titulan "De la Rosa dice que será tercer piloto" pero, nada, siguen sin oficializar la noticia. Y yo, poniéndome de los nervios...

Estamos todos impacientes por ver que se confirma esta noticia.
De todos modos, no me gusta que se ponga como motivo el hecho de que Wurz sea demasiado alto. Principalmente, porque no creo creo que se ni el único ni siquiera el principal motivo para ello.






Una de las ventajas de decir siempre la verdad es que no tienes que recordar qué has dicho.

Totalmente de acuerdo, Ogle! Es una de las cosas que más "me molesta" de esta gran paso que ha dado Pedro en su carrera. Ya lo dije una vez, pero insisto: no creo que sea ésa la razón, ni mucho menos. Pedro se lo ha currado y se lo ha ganado. Punto.
Estamos impacientes, pero yo... lo daría por hecho prácticamente. De momento en Mclaren hoy sólo aparece una felicitación de cumpleaños a Wurz (en las news). Pero ya acostumbran a ser "muy lentos" con ciertas noticias que te tienen en un ayyyy...
