INJURY UPDATE: According to Dr. Steve Olvey, CART Director of Medical Affairs, Alex Zanardi is now out of surgery at Klinikum Berlin-Marzahn (hospital). He underwent traumatic amputation of both lower extremities above the knee, and had his wounds cleaned in a three-hour surgical procedure. A CT scan of his head was normal. Zanardi sustained a moderately severe concussion and was beginning to show signs of purposeful movement before going into surgery at around 6 p.m. local time. He also sustained several small fractures of the pelvis that did not require surgery. He is in the Intensive Care Unit and is expected to remain there for several days. His condition is critical but stable.

Pues eso, amputación de ambas piernas, finalmente por encima de la rodilla, fracturas varias en la pelvis.
Permanecerá varios dias en la U.C.I.
Su estado es crítico pero estable, al parecer perdió bastante sangre.

Toda una tragedia....¿como puede vivir un intor sin manos?...asi tiene que sentirse un piloto sin pies.....Pobre Alex, va a necesitar mucho apoyo.
