Si, estoy muy de acuerdo en todo lo que dices pero, como tú bien sabes, no todos podemos coincidir ni ver las cosas desde un mismo punto de vista. Por ejemplo; al ver el título del tópic, me ha venido a la cabeza el nombre de Webber...

Su mejor posición en un Jaguar medianamente competitivo ha sido un 6º lugar (peor que Pedro) y ninguno de los segundos pilotos de éste mismo equipo han conseguido lo que consiguió Pedro siendo segundo (con lo que comporta tratandose del equipo verde).

Pues bien, mi pregunta es la siguiente; se ha merecido Webber estar en Williams con el primer monoplaza? Porqué Webber "difamó" contra un compañero actual de equipo diciendo que era un mal perdedor? Porqué en todas las entrevistas que concede se cree que llegará Melbourne y ganará... o en su defecto, ganará a Schumacher?

Se le estará subiendo algo a la cabeza, pero lo que es gloria, poca.

As an Aussie and die-hard Mark Webber fan I have noticed a distinct split in opinion about his ability. Some rate him highly, some don't rate him at all, I am interested in your opinion and what you base it on.

I think it's true that, to some extent, the jury is still out on Webber, but not so much on his 'ability', as you put it, as on his out-and-out speed. I don't think there's much doubt that he's an extremely capable driver, but until a driver gets himself into a top car – as Mark has now done - it's always difficult to know just how quick he is.

That said, what we know beyond doubt about Webber is that he can turn it on - who else, for example, ever put a Jaguar on the front row of the grid? As well as that, we know he's a very hard racer, not about to be intimidated by anyone. Last, we know he's a guy who works extremely well with a team, and has more dedication to his job than anyone, save perhaps Michael Schumacher. I think he's one of those few 'who never gives up', and FW and Patrick Head put a very high value on that.

Last thing: Mark is a thoroughly good bloke, and one who can spot a phoney at 50 paces. During his time at Jaguar, one thing I really liked was his contempt for some of the more stupid and outlandish PR stunts on which certain folk in the team - in the absence of any great results on the track - tended to concentrate. I've written before that he seems to me a born Williams driver, and I haven't change my opinion. It will delight me if he and Williams really get it together this year.

Por zanjar un poco el tema Webber (por mi parte, al menos) os dejo la opinión de Nigel Roebuck que salía hoy publicada, precisamente.

Que él (Webber) solo hable esta temporada manifestando lo que pueda y veamos si merecía o no ese volante... Vamos a ser buenos y dar un voto de confianza (nos cueste o no).

Que no me oiga nadie, pero... yo tengo mucha "manía personal", lo reconozco, a los coches verdes. ¿Sabéis que digo yo tras el estrés de las carreras -o bastantes de ellas-? "Siempre un puñetero Jaguar lo joroba todo!!"

Pues, ¡hala!, mucha suerte y mucho pushing hard a los pilotillos que estáis liados por ese campeonato vuestro de GPL. No os pongáis nerviosos, hombre!!
