Vaya M::::: de Q3!!

+ 1000

Document 21

Technical Report

During the second qualifying practice session today car number 02, driver Mark Webber, stopped on the circuit at turn 14.

It was checked whether car number 02 had enough fuel on board in order to be driven back to the pits under its own power and in addition to this that a one litre fuel sample could be taken.

The car had 150 ml fuel on board which is not enough for the required one litre fuel sample and to drive the car back to the pits under its own power.

As this is not in compliance with Article 6.6.2 of the 2013 Formula One Technical Regulations, I am referring this matter to the stewards for their consideration.

Jo Bauer
The FIA Formula 1 Technical Delegate

2013 CHINESE GRAND PRIX

From The FIA Stewards of the Meeting
To The Team Manager
Infiniti Red Bull Racing
Document 24
Date 13 April 2013
Time 17:06

The Stewards, having received a report from the Technical Delegate and having heard from the team representative, have considered the following matter, and determine a breach of the regulations has been committed by the competitor named below and impose the penalty referred to.

No / Driver 2 - Mark Webber

Competitor Infiniti Red Bull Racing

Time 14:34

Session Qualifying

Fact Car 2 was not driven back to the pits under its own power and was unable provide the fuel sample as required.

Offence Breach of Article 6.6.2 of the FIA Formula One Technical Regulations.

Decision The Competitor is excluded from the results of the Qualifying Session. The competitor is however allowed to start the race from the back of the grid.

Reason The team admitted it had not put sufficient fuel in the car. As specified in the Technical Delegates report (Document 21), only 150ml of fuel was on board which was insufficient to provide the 1 litre fuel sample and drive the car back to the pits under its own power.
